s utah trip report
had a great trip to paria vermillion area and Cap Reef.
weather was cooler than avg. which is fine by me.Scenery as per usual:fantastic.
The burr trail from boulder that cuts thru the Grand staircase and Cap reef is really exc for various hiking, biking options. The Cap reef section is really nice-and provides great sunset photo ops.The switchbacks that descend to the notom road give an awesome view of canyon mesas and the henry mtns.
my rental car had a cd player.Ozzy,Dokken et al, never sounded so good.Houses of the Holy is a great cd to listen when driving thru prety country.
Also listened to the navajo nations new? radio station. While other stations fade out in the country, that mofo comes in clear. The indians got smart and invested in 50000 watt broadcasting equip.KFI and KNX also can be heard evrywhere in utah!!!!

Ralphs offers to put yer pix on cd for 9 bux plus 6 bux for the film development. My prob with that is you can only do the cd thing with undeveloped film and i want to be able to choose the best pix for the cd.Can i do the cd thing with already processed film?Know of any places that do the cd film transfer thingy for reasonable rates?thanx

It costs me ~$11 for a CD and prints and developing at Costco (1 hr). You might try Kinko's or some place like that.

I work in Redondo Beach. I can scan some photos if you want.

You got me going on this. I'll scan a few of mine and post it later.

I've been putting notes on the envelope when I turn it in, asking them to check the CD for lint and vertical line 1" from the top. They're getting better.

It will be HOT... Unless you're from Phoenix. Be sure to play golf. Their economy depends on it. What brings you to Utah?

DANG!! I need to get back out to Utah. Last trip was in Oct. 2000.

Snow Nymph -- you "Trailho" (lol) -- where's Tantalus Flats? And where were the ruins you saw? Bryce looked very cool in the snow. On the last trip out, I got to see it got dumped on with a snow squall going through. Did the Navajo Loop trail and boots got caked with RED clay! Also did the Cohab Canyon Trail hike at Capitol Reef in the rain... my feet musta weighed 15 pounds with that clay/dirt on my boots!

Reminds me, there's still fine red clay dust to be found on my old Jeep!! lol....... man, I NEED A UTAH FIX!!!

I have some shots, too, all KINDS of Utah shots... but most aren't online, or are slides and not scanned.

OK, here are links to two shots. The first has words by Edward Abbey placed on it for kind of an "assignment" on a photo website:

West Temple at Zion at sunrise

And this is sunset, with ex-boyfriend and me in the shot, at Canyonlands:

Canyonlands sunset

WAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! I wanna go back!!

I'm planning on being in UT the week of July 15-19, and I was planning on a trip in the San Fran Mountains in AZ sometime that week. If anyone would like to join me, they are more than welcome.

I've got a trip planned in Aug. to the High Unitas -base camping at a place called Moosehorn Campground-anyone heard of it ? I need to order a map and guide book for the area I think it is near Bald Mountain? Someone else picked the base camp that is why I don't know didly 'bout the place. I heard the fishing is good though!
