Tango, I checked out your webshots albums. I like the Kinlock Falls2, and the river pics. Do the alligators walk on the trails? That would be pretty cool to see!

Thanks Phil for the updates!

SgtRock's website has an interesting stove weight calculator. It looks useful for planning as well as decision making.

Phil- You're really to be commended for the work you've done with your photo page. There should be some kind of award for what you're doing.

Of course giving your time to the site itself is your reward, but you know that.

Thanks, really.

Thanks, everyone. The photo page has been fun and a part of bringing people together (so I've been told). I haven't changed the format much because I am trying to keep it simple. It takes too long to load, so I may try to address that sometime.

Phil, I sent you a couple of panoramas in an e-mail. Were they too big to mess with?

I think there is still some meat leftover from that catch. They better save some for me next time I go home!

P.S. Boar aren't good dancers.

Artex, I notice you are keeping your distance from that boar. Did it have some severe BO?

Quite a catch Artex! What kind of lure and what test line were you trolling with? (j/k -- should never tease those willing to go into the palmetto thickets after wild pigs)

I was quite sweaty, so I didn't want to get to close to a dead carcass at that point! That was a very memorable day. The biggest one I'd ever been a part of catching was 150 lbs. prior to that one, which was 283 lbs. The hunting dogs were going nuts and my cousin and I tore through the palmetto fronds and brush (just like pekka said) as fast as we could. At first, I thought what I was looking at was the base of an uprooted tree, then I saw one of the dogs slung at least 10 feet from this "tree" and my jaw dropped when I realized it was a big, nasty boar. My cousin swooped in with the speed of a puma, grabbed it by it's hind legs, tripped it up so it was on it's side and jumped on it. He yelled for me to help pin him down and then I jumped on it (pile on!). My uncle and brother then made their way through and we got the hunting dogs off of it and then it was shot. I know some people are opposed to hunting, but it was skinned and later eaten... and in my book, that makes it okay.

Phil, I got quite a chuckle when I clicked on the "New Link for Sgt Rock" on your "web updates" area. Where has Mtn Gal been? Maybe we should ask Spiritcoyote to click on it to see what would be appreciated???

I am still around once in awhile. Since I stop chewing liberals, I don’t bother with the political threads and most of the rest of what’s here is not real interesting. Even the humor quickly gets sophomoric. Ya all are fun but a gal needs a challenge.

Snow, The alligators don't really walk the trails unless they are nice and sunny. Those 2 were on a bike trail. The 'beach' of the Little Econ was about 15 feet from them if I remember correctly.
Thank you for the compliment.
