I went to sportkilts.com and purchased a kilt (good price by the way). They are pretty nice once you get used to them. As for going Regimental, good luck...stay out of the wind (LOL)

I'll need a tartan for clan Mackay.....my paternal grandmothers maiden name......actually met a Mackay who was working for the Trust in Scotland guarding castles. After talking a bit I noticed his name tag "Mackay". I told him about grandma and he put his arm around me and hugged me like a brother........lot of stock in those clans.............

Dear Stovie,

Why must you hate? Join the love. Enjoy the freedoms of hiking in a kilt. Trust us, you'll like it. ;)

I made a kilt out of Tyvek and going to use it this weekend on an overnighter. The concept is rather cutting edge; a light and very durable modern fabric made into a centuries old desgin that allows freedom of movement, cooling, and the ability to write your name in cursive with Capital letters when you pee.

I can't figure out how to post pics here but it is on my Myspace page.

Possibly. But scrambling while wearing kilts might be a bad idea if others are nearby.

Hiking Kilt
I just got a tartan kilt from SportKilt.com two weeks ago to use primarily for hiking ... I like it so much, I've worn it almost every day, not just on trails, but in the city, out at night, everywhere! Nothing but positive responses, especially from the ladies {;-). Now, I'm getting a UtiliKilt Survival kilt on Friday.

The question for guys isn't "Why a kilt?"--the real question is "Why pants?" Pants are anatomically inappropriate for men; while kilts are the original ergonomic garment for the male physique.

And, yes, there's only one authentic (and comfortable) way to wear a kilt. What's under MY kilt? -- Freedom

Got balls?--Wear a kilt!

Great response, Nature Boy!

See boys? It really isn't that bad.

Now, do a girl a favor and go get yourselves one. ;)

And now a word from Cliffie Clavin
ENS...the kilt was originally from France....and if you want you can wear it...ya doan haf ta be Irish, Scottish or what not.....

Oh and a kilt costs a LOT less than lederhosen. (LOL)
