“Hey dude! when you and the misses gonna head down to the circle city for a couple days? I still got a room waitin for ya.”

“Wish I knew man. I am still knee deep with the house renovation. Then a big rewire of the youth room at church. My schedule should lighten up end of sept I hope....

When are you going to manitou?”

“I don't know really. My Sis and I want to take a trip up there one of these days but she isn't really a backpacker, and doesn't have any cold weather gear. That doesn't mean We couldn't go before the ferry stops running if you have something in mind. Then my sis and I could go in the spring. She has kinda taken a fascination with that area, and I have talked her into doing a practice backpack trip in the gorge before getting quite so committed by doing the island trip.

What is the terain like on the island anyhow?
Are there many rock formations to see or overlooks back towards the dunes or that type of thing? I think she kinda wanted to basecamp. What are your thoughts on that?”

“Hey I think I may have had North Manitou confused with another island (Beaver). Which one has Wolves and Moose? I think that is Beaver Island isn't it?

I may have accidentaly scared big Sis away from NMI. Oops. If that's the case we may be headed to NMI in a month. Do you think the weather will be tollerable still? I don't want to spend 3 days letting a lake Michigan storm kick my azz. They can be brutal near the shore. I can only imagine how bad it would be on an island.”

“Wolves and moose is Isle Royale.

North Manitou terrain is easy. Not sure on the ferry schedule however.
