I would argue that if enough Americans were against something then they could stop it far more effectively by mass protest, and I'm talking in the millions, then by taking a few shots at the FBI.” 2:24:49 PM 4/01/03 “You can have my bazooka, Violin. Never been fired and only dropped once.” 2:25:13 PM 4/01/03 “When I face a violent criminal, I prefer having a gun, and thankfully the 2nd amendment allows me to have one.” 2:25:41 PM 4/01/03 “All I can say is the first post in this thread is the one I would nominate for TTs stupidest post award if such a think existed.” 2:26:00 PM 4/01/03 “If utlra or the other guy can produce a "wall of fire" with his guns then I really am concerned” 2:26:24 PM 4/01/03 “Unless in a strategy of Shock and Awe, we attempted a quick, limited "decapitation" strike against the government!” 2:26:29 PM 4/01/03 “I don’t pretend to have the answers to gun control or crime, but just last week I saw a story on the local news that got me thinking. Some guy who I believe was a lawful gun owner was arrested for taking a couple of pot shots at his neighbor. He did not hit his neighbor and I don’t think that was intention although it doesn’t matter either way, because he shot at him. I began to think what if any law applied to him as far as continued gun ownership. My feeling is that this person has proven himself incapable of responsible gun ownership and should never as long as he lives be allowed to own a gun, because this was no accident it was intentional. To me this would be just plain common sense.” 2:29:14 PM 4/01/03 “ynamiynami - Don't you think security forces would be less than enthusiastic in making nighttime arrests of dissidents if they felt there was a reasonable chance that they wouldn't make it back home in the morning? It wouldn't take a superior military to repel an assault on our freedom.” 2:31:17 PM 4/01/03 “Well historically, when a depotic regime comes to power then the dissisents tend to find they have a bullet in the back of the head before they know what's happening.” 2:33:13 PM 4/01/03 “I don't think widespread gun ownership makes America any more or less likely to suffer an "assault on it's freedom"” 2:35:22 PM 4/01/03 “Why don't we outlaw vehicles so people who drink and drive can't crash into a family of 4 on the interstate? It's the vehicle's fault, just like when a gun jumps into someone's hand and makes them have criminal tendencies. Oh wait, vehicles have a legitimate purpose--guns are only for killing people. You can't hunt with them or target shoot with them or defend yourself with them. Though inanimate, they are evil and exercise mind control over those who possess them.” 2:35:51 PM 4/01/03 “You're right - John Ashcrack has done an excellent job assualting our freedom, even with all the guns in the hands of citizens.” 2:36:50 PM 4/01/03 “Here's the quote I was looking for: "How we burned in the prison camps later thinking: What would things have been like if every police operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? If during periods of mass arrests people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever was at hand? The organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt." - Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Nobel Prize winner and author of The Gulag Archipelago, who spent 11 years in Soviet concentration camps.” 2:37:03 PM 4/01/03 “I don't think there are any strong arguments against hunting rifles and shotguns, things like that.” 2:38:12 PM 4/01/03 “I forgot to add that when a despotic regime comes to power, it is usually a gradual process that starts with taking away individual freedoms. If the first freedom you take away is the right to keep and bear arms, then the other freedoms become a breeze to take away.” 2:39:09 PM 4/01/03 “Quoting Solzhenitsyn at me Vio, it'll be Dostoyevsky next. I think he's talking about a very different situation and about a different time, and he's talking more about mass resistance than specifically owning firearms.” 2:43:30 PM 4/01/03 “I never go anywhere without my M1A2 Abrams Tank. If tanks are outlawed, only outlaws will have tanks. Traffic jams? I don't worry about no stinkin traffic jams!” 2:44:11 PM 4/01/03 “reminds me of the chase out in L.A. a few years ago where the nut stole an old M60 tank from the armory. The funniest part was when he veered towards the RV and crushed it flat. Man, how many times have I wanted to do that on the interstate!!” 2:50:40 PM 4/01/03 “If I had been there with my Apache helicopter that nut would never have gotten that far.” 2:55:16 PM 4/01/03 “You'll be telling me Walmart shouldn't sell tanks and helicopter gunships next ;o)” 2:56:55 PM 4/01/03 “Wal mart shouldn't sell coleman propane bottles, they should sell isobutane canisters that fit my Primus!” 2:58:25 PM 4/01/03 “They sell white gas which fits my stove.” 2:59:42 PM 4/01/03 “A friend told me that a lot of the Walmarts out west sell canister fuel.” 3:00:59 PM 4/01/03 “What the he11 do you think your doing turning this into a gear thread.” 3:02:11 PM 4/01/03 “aww geez my bad! ynami squared started it with the Walmart comment!! blame it on ynami!” 3:05:18 PM 4/01/03 “no I didn't - Ultra did earlier, blame him” 3:06:01 PM 4/01/03 “Ok now I see the loophole your talking about. It’s not a gun show loop hole. It is simply called that to incite an unfavorable view of legal and regulated business of gun. In simple terms.. What the loop hole would close is this. If I wanted to sell a gun to anyone including a gun dealer, I would have to have a FBI background check run on him. You do have two points.. As a private citizen (non licensed dealer) I do have the right to sell gun to a private citizen (non licensed dealer) with out an FBI check. But if I sell the gun to a person with “restricted ownership rights” I would be held liable. Also there would be no record of the new owner of the gun. All of this is true in Iowa at least. I cannot directly sell a gun to a person or a dealer out of state with out first sending it through the FFL process. To say I’m Uninformed, ignorant about gun laws is untrue. Yes I am a Troll and Yes my wife thinks that often I do act like an Imbecile (but what do you expect, I’m a guy) “you've yet to answer the question of why you feel you are not able to get through life without a gun Nullen” Fire arms are historic and a hobby to me just like model rocketry. To insinuate that if feel that I cannot get through live with out a gun is libel. It is a right granted to me by the founders of this nation that I’ve chosen to exercise. Just as those who wish to partake in peaceful public assembly and those who choose to speak their mind. And until such time that it is no longer a right, I consider my ownership of firearms beyond reproach. Me nihilistic? a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless. I agree what that statement. If we all held to traditional values and beliefs there would be no Christians (other than lion food).. No united states no automobile, aircraft and very few medications. Mutt Thank you for the complement.” 3:08:44 PM 4/01/03 “Good luck to you Nullen. You are doing nothing wrong with your gun hobby, I never meant to imply that. As to the imbecile and ignorant etc. bit I was simply turning your remarks directed at me back at you. And a comment of that nature in a discussion forum like this could never be considered libellous.” 3:15:56 PM 4/01/03
