Getting your wisdom teeth pulled is a freaky experience. It is the only time I have been totally out and can't account for a half hour of my life.

Wow you're lucky biz. I had mine pulled 25 years ago and I can still remember the entire excruciating process. They opted not to put me under. Just nitrous and some local. Wahoooooo!

Hell, your lucky, man. All I got was novocaine. My wisdom teeth were impacted and the dentist actually had to break them and remove the fragments. I can still feel his knee in my chest, tuggin' on them suckers with his pliers, and that was 24 years ago!

Yah, mine did pretty much hop right out of my mouth and into the tray. Seriously. I remember the dentist sticking this thing that looked like an ice pick into my mouth. He worked in there for a little while, and when my mouth was free again, I asked, "so how long is the first one gonna take?"

I was answered by the sound of one of my wisdom teeth hitting the bottom of a stainless steel bowl Clank!

When people ask me if I still have my wisdon teeth, I say, "Sure do!" They look at me funny, and then I say, "They're in a little bag in a drawer at home!"

Then they look at me real funny.

Scha-wish that floride. Better than going to the peridontist to have "deep cleaning!" Even though they use novicaine, it feels like they're digging down to your arse!

You ought to make a necklace and wear them. Then people would really look at you funny!

She was not amused.

Stump, I had all but 2 of my baby teeth pulled. My permanents started coming in and my baby teeth still didn't come out. I had to have peridontal surgery when I was ten. I had braces from 12 to 15 and I even had to wear a head gear . . . in public . . . in junior high. I have a straight smile now, but man, the price was high. That head gear nearly killed me, both physically and emotionally. Can you imagine being forced to wear one of those things to school at 13? I wished someone would shoot me and end my misery.

Well, I mostly that I've had very little work done on my teeth. One filling. My wisdom teeth pulled. I have a bonding that gets replaced every ten years or so. That's it.

I currently don't even have a filling in my mouth. The one I had was in a baby tooth and it fell out years ago.

(retainer sucking noise) Well it is good to hear others (retainer sucking noise)have had to wear it. (retainer sucking noise) I thought I may have been the only hapless soul to wear one (retainer sucking noise). I was in one for what seemed like an eternity (retainer sucking noise) Before the tracks went in I had this (retainer sucking noise) hunk of molded plastic that was fitted for my mouth. It had two small (retainer sucking noise) breather holes in the front. It came with the full head wrap that palmed the skull.

After that experience came the tracks. I'll never forget the shock that little inline hammer gave when used to put the back bands and lower retainer in. Talk about hitting a nerve.

I have a few cavities but all my teeth.

Brair, that was too funny. Did anybody have to wear rubber bands. I had a virtual road map of criss-crossing rubber bands. I could barely open my miserable mouth. I also forgot to mention that I had to have a few permanents removed too. Apparently, my freakin' jaws are too small for the average number of adult teeth. I'm telling you . . . I was a freak! LOL!

Right now I'm just asking around, seeing what I can find out by, uh, word of mouth.

Had rubber bands, too.

5/20/02

oh yeah
I had the rubber bands and four permanent teeth removed because of the small jaw/normal sized teeth. The headaches after they tightened the screws-I mean braces-achh the pain. And I have permanent scars or what you might call skin flaps from the braces cutting into the inside of my cheeks. But that was back in the stone age I would hope it would be better now. I have heard that if you get the palate stretched using an overnight palate implement when a child is around 3-4 years old then the problems would be minimal. My friends little child had that and now her mouth/teeth are fine and it was not painful or an embarassment. But take a look at the folks who did not get the torture and then you will feel better about it all, eh? I have a friend who's teeth are really quite messy and hard to floss.

Only had 2 removed and my teeth moved back--not nearly as bad of over-bite as I had, but they still moved back some what. Guess it's genetics?

I had a underbite. I wore the headgear too, to open up a space for the right lateral, which was growing behind the other teeth on the roof of my mouth. Got two impacted wisdom teeth removed to make space for the lower teeth, and get rid of that underbite (the bulldog look). I had the rubber bands too. Went to USC because medical students needed someone to work on. But I'm glad I had it done then, even though I hated it.

Ahhh yes the rubber bands. Weren't those the devil to put on? Must we forget about the wax used to keep the lips from gettin all torn up before they got conditioned for the braces. My parents wised up and sent me to a orthordonist over the dentist. 2 of my older sib's went to a dentist and got worked over. They both had like six adult teeth yanked and then their teeth racked beyond belief. The bracing actually changed their whole profile. So much so it looks as if they were hit in the face with a 2x4. The front of their mouth is just flat with no curve. Its kinda a shame because they lost some of the qualities that were distinct to our family.

I was a dead ringer for Ernie from "My three Sons" while growning up.

But Briar, the Orthodontist is much more in-tune with some of the sick forms of the torture. My ortho office had a long line of chairs where kids got worked on assembly line style. I'm not joking. He also had about 12 women in total working for him. They were all young and every single one of them was blond and big breasted. This is also not a joke, I'm completely serious. I felt like I was going to the Playboy mansion to have my teeth worked on. I felt really bad for some of the boys, I'm sure it was quite uncomfortable to lay back and have your teeth yanked around by some hottie. . . .you know trying to endure the pain and keep the arousal to a minium. LOL! Man, that was a very screwed up portion of my youth.
