Thanks to Jerbear for wisdom (and humor) when I needed it, SmokyGirl for helping with dinner Sat night (and finding "really two completely different trails that together connect the relatively quiet and slow Greenbrier section with the bustling
Appalachian trail at Dry Sluice Gap, near Charlies Bunion."), SonicJill for doing gear testing (and trusting 'some guy she met over the Internet'), Superman (Clark) for bringing more chairs (and things to put in the drink holders), Skidder for leading us faithfully up and down LeConte three times (and giving the girls a buff guy to gawk at), and --

Prowler, Kym, Mark, Jan, Lainey, Shade, Sage and everyone else for filling up two campsites way past legal limits, and --

Thanks for the nice rain showers.

*** A great experience. I am sure there will be more said later. ***

Sorry I missed it. But believe me, you guys are glad I did, 'cause you'd have been hauling my corpse out of there if I had come, lol....

Trust me.. we were ALL tired.. and the things you do to compensate for pain.. and how you keep trudging..

(to move with purpose) -- Thanks Jerbear.

Tired wouldn't have had anything to do with it TD, although I would have been tired. This is shaping up to be a banner year for my allergies, and even taking everything I know to take hasn't helped. Four days in the outdoors constantly would have done me in.

Lemmeguess

All will be revealed in time, right?

I told the bunch that hiked with me the the first story out of our trip HAS to be the one about the manway that shortcuts right up the face of Charlies Bunion.

So give me a few days, and I should be able to recount it all.

(Folks that hiked with me.. -- shhHhh.. don't tell anything yet.. )

40 miles in three days, not too bad even for some dayhikers. Towndawg is quite the trip coordinator, all you have to do is show up and bring your gear. The rest is as easy as puting one foot in front of the other.

In case anyone is wondering who one the wet T-shirt contest, the competition was fierce. The winner however was Towndawg who won based on symetry.

Also, if you see anyone standing at a trail head talking with an Eddie Bauer accent about how big of a hiker they are, it is Towndawg. He has picked this up quite nicely.
