Got off work a little earlier than I expected Saturday so we packed it up and headed for a trailhead without a quota :) Turned out to be a very relaxing trip! We met some great folks on the trail too!
Some of them may even show up here. ;)

We met the most amazing Lady on the trail
We talked to her and her husband off and on the entire weekend but I don't recall ever exchanging names. They knew so much about the area and the history of each cabin and loved talking about it. I could tell they really liked seeing the boys having a great time in the wilderness and they shared that they had brought their 5 children with them into this area many times. But the children were all grown and gone now and they hiked alone these days. It was obvious that she has had one of her breasts removed and she wore one of those turbin things to cover her hair loss. Sunday afternoon she saw me without my hat and noticed my bald head and commented that we have the same hair styles. On the way out we crossed paths once again and during the conversation her husband mentioned she had an appointment on Tuesday for Chemotherapy (sp?)I was amazed ...here she is in the Golden Trout Wilderness ascending a 2,500' elevation gain to get back to the car on the Monday before her next treatment.

She was always happy and positive and made a real impression on me...living life to the fullest even in the face of adversity!

Great photos!! And a source of inspiration to boot.

That woman is facing another kind of mountain. Hope she hangs on. Gotta be tough on her husband too, you know?

Nice photos! I haven't hiked in that area yet. Another one to add to the list.

Great lifelong memories for the boys. The gameboy cracks me up.
