Now watch it deteriorate....
Anyone try any Nimrod packs?

Relatively new manufacturer with a modular design aimed at a niche market, but looks possible for general backpacking.

the fact that they don't have weights listed in the descriptions is not a good sign.

Isn't calling someone a nimrod an insult?

I thought a nimrod was a lighter?

I believe the US Navy operates a submarine spyplane called a "nimrod" also.

I just looked in Webster. It says Nimrod is from the book of Gen. in the Bible and refers to the son fo Cush, regarded as a mighty hunter.

Well, I was right. This thread deteriorated fast. One response so far on the original topic.

There's a kid who lives diagonally across the street from me named Nimrod. I'll see if he knows anything.

I wonder what the record is for "Thread Deterioration" is for threads that contain the word "serious" ?

BTW, the last name of the girl I took to the all-night, drive-in Planet of the Apes Film Festival in high school was...Nimrod!

Or at least she told you she was a girl!

Thanks, bitpusher, I was having a bad time imagining Parliament approving a bill to build an underwater airplane. I think I saw James Bond flying one of those.

There used to be a British sci-fi series called "UFO" where there was a secret British organization whose sole purpose was fighting and defeating marauding UFO's. Not to mention hiding the fact from the world that there were marauding UFO's. Anyway, they had a submarine in that series that had a bow that would launch from underwater and fly like a plane.

So maybe you're onto something there, Lyndy...

Call Admiral Nelson. The Flying Sub is missing. Watch out for that Giant Bream.

They're asking for trouble with that name. I think they just wanted a name with 'rod' in it, LOL
(the packs And the plane, <G>)

There was a band that used to play in Underground Atlanta called "Strangers on a Train". People would say things like, "Geee, they should've stayed on the train" or "They should've remained strangers"...

hmmmmm... about the lack of weight listings, I don't think they care. For example, when they advertise: "This pack is rated to tolerate over 100lb loads...", I think you better start saving up for the corrective surgeries (vertibral fusion, knee & hip replacements...)

Bitpusher, I remember UFO...it was a cool show. I didn't know that it was British...I was too young when it was on T.V.

Remember the one where the aliens had implanted something in a black cat's eyes (video lens, I suppose)...everything the cat saw, the aliens saw. The cat was roaming all over the secret organization's premises (I guess the aliens trained the cat).

Wow, stanlee, I didn't realize anybody else knew UFO ever even existed. It was produced by ITV, IIRC.

I don't remember that particular episode, it's been too long. I mostly remember thinking how cool all the cars and gadgets and spaceships were. I do remember an episode where there was an alien sharpshooter on the moon, shooting out the windows on the moonbase.
