Max Patch Mac & Cheese - I liked this. It's pretty rich.

Switchback Spaghetti - This was like eating paste, awful stuff. Crash Bang tells me people usually say it's too spicy! Based on this I am going to try it again. Perhaps I got a bad meal. I have emailed them and I'll let you know what they say.

El Captain Three Bean Chili - My favorite, I really like this.

Cherokee Cinnamon Rice - Very good, but you could make this at home for much less from instant rice/etc. Read the ingredients and you will see.

San Juan Stroganoff - I really liked this, but the sauce was a bit runny. I may not have let it sit long enough. The mushrooms were good but finely chopped.”

“Follow up. I emailed their customer support people and complained about the bland dish. Here is what they replied with:

first of all, thank you for your feedback. You are right, most love it
so let's get this handled. If you don't mind, I would like to ask a
couple questions to get more feedback. Did you get it at an outfitter
store? Earlier this year we went with another sauce but some store
still have the old version.
No matter, we will replace or refund you because we stand behind our
stuff.
Let me know what you want us to do...

That's pretty gratifying. I asked for a new meal. It's great to deal with companies that really do support what they sell.”

“Personally, I liked the meals, I've tried:

Switchback Spaghetti, Rainer Rice and Slickrock Beans.

I cook them in the pot, rather than in the bag and I think this improves the texture and taste .

Another thing I like about their meal's is, they're much lower in sodium, compared to other meals like, Mountain House.

They also have fewer additives too.”

“Pitts, always use at least one ounce less water than the instructions call for, unless you're ading dehydrated meat to the meal.

Switchback spaghetti is one of Enertia's worse meals, imo (and Birch's too). Don't feel bad if you still don't like it.

I love their food. Maple breakfast bulgar is my favorit breakfast. The stuff is literally like rocket fuel.”

“As a follow up. Recall I complained about the library paste taste of their Switchback Spaghetti? Look earlier in the thread and you will see the nearly instant response I got from my complaint. They replaced the meal with one that they were sure was "fresh" and that I would be pleased with.

Well, it arrived to day so they kept their promise. They called it a "warranty replacement" and cost me nothing.

I'll let you know if it's an improvement from library paste. The customer support was excellent... top notch.”

“Good to know. I actually ate an Enertia for dinner the other night because I was out of food. I think they taste better when camping, but it still wasn't bad.”

“Ha! I haven't had to resort to that, but you may recall that, when I started this thread, I was basically bringing these things in to work for my lunch every day.”

“Thinkbubelz and I tried the Alfredo last week.

It was still edible, but tasted stale...I added some fresh pepper and that helped a little. I guess we will just eat up the ones we have, and invest in new ones next time...”

“I have some enertia meals that are really to old to keep, but I decided to try one this week. I was short on groceries.

I made the goulash. It was as bad as the other enertia meals I remember. I threw it out. I still don't get the popularity of this stuff.”

“LOL, sometimes if i have a meal that's getting older i'll bring it to work for lunch...i get a lot of weird looks...maybe i'll shock 'em even more one day an cook it with my alcohol stove”

“I've had some of those things until they're too old, too, but they've always tasted fine. The goulash is one of my favorites, actually. They have added a few meals within the past year or so - we're going to try a couple on the JMT in August.”
