I am a drummer.I have been a drummer for 22 years. My style is Jazz Rock Fusion Progressive Rock.I also play lots of other forms of percussion. So are there any other TT'ers out there that play music? The drums I play are Pearl I have a 7 Piece set. So what do ya all play? 8)” 8:58:09 PM 5/30/02 “I play alot of Beatles,Zeppelin meets Van Halen stuff on my Carvin guitar. Don't play as much as I use to. I like all sorts of music. I saw Bonnie Rait the other night. Great slide player.” 9:03:41 PM 5/30/02 “I'm also into music, but it's electronic. I do all the keyboards, programming, and mixing. Give it a listen here! http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/354/hunt_the_wumpus.html I'd make that a link, but I'm too tired and am going to bed soon. Jazz fusion is great, Crazy Mike, that's what my brother plays (www.hammerslug.com, that's his website). I'm into all kinds of music, from New Age to Death Metal. If it's good stuff, I'll like it! :-)” 9:04:34 PM 5/30/02 “Yes she is!I am very much into Fusion style of music. Lots of Jazz in me! I am glad to see you have a love for music.I love to play music as much as I love to backpack! 8)” 9:06:03 PM 5/30/02 “I played bass in some Hard rock garage bands back in the 80's. I also played guitar too. We got out and did several gigs but never recorded. About 5 years ago, I got my left hand messed up pretty bad at work and it left me with limited use of my index finger. Becauce of it, I no longer rock climb. It also took away most of my guitar ability. I've not owned a guitar since it happened. But......I've been getting the urge to play again. I've had severl song ideas in my head and I'd like to get another guitar, bass, drum machine, & 4 track recorder and compose again. I have actually been looking at guitars the past two days but I've not found one that really likes me yet.” 9:06:24 PM 5/30/02 “I play music all the time. CDs mostly :)” 9:06:37 PM 5/30/02 “I have herd some of your stuff Artex and its cool.I would very much like to check out your brothers music. 8)” 9:07:26 PM 5/30/02 “WD its like rideing a bike you never forget! Pick it up again. I think it would be way cool if we could get a bunch of TT'ers and have a jam session!!!!! That would rock! 8)” 9:09:10 PM 5/30/02 “geetar and bass. Both rather poorly I might add.” 9:10:31 PM 5/30/02 “You play and thats what counts! 8)” 9:11:51 PM 5/30/02 “Thanks Crazy Mike, glad you liked! That would be cool to get a bunch of us together and jam. I think there's little doubt Stratdewd would be game! Walkindude, that's great your thinking about playing again. Would it be painful at all for your hand?” 9:14:09 PM 5/30/02 “I'm looking for another B.C. Rich guitar if possible. NO Bar! I hate them things. It's a pain keeping an axe in yune with one. No single coil pick-ups either. Gotta be humbuckers. I hate Les Pauls, Flying V's by Gibson and anything by Fender (sorry stratdude). I would settle for a Gibson Explorer or SG.” 9:14:44 PM 5/30/02 “Bass, poorly Trumpet, used to be pretty good Baritone, so-so I also have a drum machine and an old 4 track. I've had the itch to learn mandolin lately.” 9:16:35 PM 5/30/02 “I am too also looking for a new drum kit! I think I am going to get a maple shell kit this time! Looks nice and sounds great! 8)” 9:17:59 PM 5/30/02 “No Artex. It's not painful. I just can't pull that finger all the way closed. The Extensor tendon was completely severed so when they attached it back it shortened it. Therefore making it almost useless. I'll never be as good as I was but I want to manage to the extent of my limitations. I'll never be able to play any real fast lead again.” 9:19:00 PM 5/30/02 “I used to have a B.C. Rich Eagle Guitar that I'd LOVE to find again. That was the best guitar I've ever played. As far as an amp, I'm probably going to look for a Peavy Backstage or a Crate with a 12" speaker.” 9:22:36 PM 5/30/02 “Crazy Mike? I fully expect the following from you: 1) You showing up at Titanium chef 2002. 2) You bringing some sort of percussion equipment, albeit bongos perhaps. 3) Enticing a few other TTers to bring their guitars, harmonicas, and other assorted instruments of pleasure and pain -- -- AND ENTERTAIN ALL OF US. From early estimates, there will be a crowd there. We are expecting nearly 100.” 9:36:51 PM 5/30/02 “"I played bass in some Hard rock garage bands back in the 80's." WD: I love some of those old pictures of you in those dayz!!” 9:38:47 PM 5/30/02 “When is that????? I want to go. I got some way cool drums to bring!!! 8)” 9:56:49 PM 5/30/02 “First Sat in December. The general manager (of where the event is scheduled to happen) called me a couple days ago, and if all works out, we will have the whole place to ourselves -- with a catered meal, and the challenge cookoff, and huge prizes, and music, and radio coverage.” 10:02:32 PM 5/30/02 “Man I want to go. 8)” 10:05:00 PM 5/30/02 “I just put a bid on a B.C. Rich on Ebay. Wish me luck!” 10:09:41 PM 5/30/02 “CM: Mark your calendar now.” 10:09:58 PM 5/30/02 “Man I would have to take a Friday off for that. Man thats a drive. 8)” 10:14:08 PM 5/30/02 LETS RAWK! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! “I play a fendah strat-o-castah & artex is correct that i'd be down wif jammin anywhere anytime. I play in a band, Group Therapy, here in NW ARK. BTW if anybody needs a fun night out we are playing in Rogers AR fri/sat at The Bayou. It's a rockin little club on good nights. We have been together for around 4 years, and play 2 or 3 times a month. We have 2 guitars, bass, & drums. I play most of the leads & sing about 15% of the songs. We are doing some classic rock stuff, leaning towards blues, & we have about 11 originals. We have a demo cd we did in the studio(5 songs) & are planning on making a full length one in the fall with all originals. I recently got cakewalk, for recording on my computer, but haven't had much time to mess with it. I end up hiking during any free time i might. We have a website with our mp3's on it, that you can downloadd, but it crashed recently, so when it's back up i'll provide ya'll the address if anybody is interested. artex, i love that stuff yer doin! i'd love to jam a guitar with all that electronic stuff you got!” 10:27:58 PM 5/30/02 “6-string acoustic: folk-rock, country-rock, Beatles, John Prine, John Hartford... Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young type stuff. Penny-whistle for reels, slip-jigs and whatnot. Slide whistle and kazoo for 60's TV themes. Hiking boots for percussion. There's no guess work in the clockwork Of the world's heart or mine There are nights I only feel right With Carolina in the pines” 10:40:57 PM 5/30/02 “I got a Martin D2R guitar. Love music. I'm pretty much like hard rock. I'm one of those audiophile dudes also. Got a killer stereo. Heck, I got about 15 grand in it. I'm no proffessional on the guitar but I can play okay. Lot of fun.” 10:57:29 PM 5/30/02 “http://www.wholenote.com/ wholenote.com is the best music site I have ever seen. Its got lessons up the ying yang, all styles,instruments...great lessons, players, insight and discussions. Im tryin to become the next yngwe hahaha...anyway,blazing 80s riff masters are my fave and right now im putting myself thru major hammer on/pull off exercises. Its tuff cuz if u miss a day of playing you suck out bad...and i suck!Im not that committed to it so its not gonna break my heart if I aint no evh.Just dont ask me to play:>” 12:02:14 AM 5/31/02 “80's Metal was the best music ever!! Them guy knew how to plat a guitar solo. Why don't bands play guitar solo's anymore? Is the talent just not out there anymore? Randy Rhodes, George Lynch, Zack Wyld, Mick Mars, Warren D. Martini, Brad Gillis, K.K. Downing, Glen Tipton, Steve Vi, Diamond Darrel, ect. Nobody will ever be able to match them!” 5:52:02 AM 5/31/02 “Yeah, a couple of years ago I talked my wife into allowing me to buy a beautiful Pearl set. Play along with some late 70s and 80s metal but can't get enough of the edgier CCM. Bands like Pillar, Skillet, Thousand Foot Crutch, and Reliant K are my favorite. I usually listen and watch TVU videos as I work. If you like POD, Lighthouse, or Project 86 check it out. http://66.40.129.32/watch.htm” 8:13:20 AM 5/31/02 “Grew up in a musical family, grew up back stage. I played drums for 27 years until quit playing a couple of years ago. Had fun, played out a bunch, but it just got to be too much with all the bands B.S. (damn guitar players! :-) )” 9:23:00 AM 5/31/02 “I guess it's sort of obvious...I play(ed) percussion--bongos, congas, anything else you can hit with your hands. Had a band in college, did a CD, used to have a web site with wav files, I'll have to figure out how to get some of the old stuff out on the web. We did mostly originals, but covered Dylan, dead, phish, marshal tucker band, neil young, doobie brother (long train was the best percussion song in our set!), the band, beatles, god street wine, janis, etc. etc. etc. It was a blast, and I surely do miss it...need to find a band out here in SF.” 10:21:39 AM 5/31/02 “well the way that I met my husband was I was visiting my sister who lived in the pocons PA. I was listening to the radio and i heard this dj and I feel in love with his voice. Well my sister new another dj so I got to meet him. 15 years later and 3 kids he is still my best friend!! I still have the recording of the first time we ever spoke when i called the radio staion and requested a song that he aired. but when im on the trail i like to listen to Native American music ( i know my taste has mellowed alot and its a nature thing) but at home I love to listen to classic rock” 11:18:45 AM 5/31/02 “ps i dont play anything but my fingers on my desk” 11:19:31 AM 5/31/02 “awesome story wild flower” 11:28:07 AM 5/31/02 “I'm a "retired" percussionist. Never learned to play a drum set - I think I resisted because the kids I played with when I started all played sets, and they were complete jerks. I played in bands and orchestras for 17 years, I think. Lots and lots of good times. I also taught myself acoustic guitar, but don't play any more (still have the guitars - one steel string, one nylon). Took up singing in high school (choir, etc.). Later started a vocal jazz quartet w/ a buddy - our 15 minutes of fame was singing the national anthem at a Giants game (well, OK, 5 minutes of fame....). Don't really sing any more, except around the house. Wife is musical, too. Son (6) is taking piano - he's catching on very well and enjoys it, too. Everyone should be issued a piano when they're born.” 1:58:17 PM 5/31/02 “It is so cool to see that there is so many TT'ers that have a love for music. Music has been in my life for a long time and I would never give it up for anything. I am going to think of a way for us all to get togeather and have a TT jam session! I think that would kick all forms of @ss!!!!!!! 8)” 8:44:51 PM 5/31/02 “I found a Gibson SG that I kinda like. I'll probably get it. It's the best deal I've come across so far. My second best choice is a brand new B.C. Rich Bich for $250. That's a little out of my price range at the moment.” 4:21:27 PM 6/01/02 “GREAT GIG LAST NIGHT! lots of peeps, they loved our material. gonna do it again tonight. walkindood, my singer plays an SG. Sweet guitar mang.” 6:11:48 PM 6/01/02 “Not sure if these count since there is no written music. I play: Didgeridoo 5&6 hole Native American Flute. Not very well yet. Never go on a trip without my CD player & tunes. Weight is not a concern when it comes to my tunes.” 6:18:58 PM 6/01/02 “Good luck again tonight Stratdewd!” 11:20:09 AM 6/02/02 We rocked dat house ya'lll!! “Thanx WD, it went great! lots n lots of people said they had alot of fun, it's very gratifying. It's almost hard to believe. We haven't ever played that place before & we were hoping to make a good impression, cuz we wanna get booked there again. I think we're IN! oops, i said hard.” 11:50:10 AM 6/02/02 “I wish I could see one of your Gigs....It sounds like a good time. 8)” 6:56:13 PM 6/02/02 “Blues and rock n roll is where its at. My homemade guitars are knock-offs of the Fender concept with my own body shapes. I love the vintage-type single coil pickups for that sweet and sensitive sound. My 16 year old son has a bunch of guitar playing pals who are into "the good stuff". They like Cream, Traffic, Jethro Tull, Hendrix, Mountain, Genesis(Peter Gabriel), and shop used record stores......LP's, that is. One of the boys is buying the customized Telecaster......his dad is another of the many middle aged guitar heads who keep this madness alive. Gotta make room for more guitars!” 7:17:03 AM 6/03/02 “Well....back in the early '80's I played bass guitar for a garage punk band, mainly original material but never gigged seriously beyond the recording room. Worked in a Rock band called the Dead End Kids at the Jersey shore as a bass guitar tech. Played a little electric guitar...owned a Washburn Z body. Studied Classical guitar for awhile but now-a-days....I'm into techno/electronic/new age and other looped based music as far as composing music. I use synths and computer based software like Reason, Sonar, Re-cycle, etc...anyway I can't wait to get a Triton!....” 3:42:23 PM 6/03/02 “tom we do all of those bands, also aerosmith, tom petty, santana, ccr, dr hook, stevie ray vaughn, beatles, almond brothers, zz top, on & on crazy mike, it's be great to have ya sometime. if your ever around NW ark lemme know. we are playing a party near Knoll MO this sat. it's supposed to be a good one. KEGGER! stratusloop, cool name 8)” 10:39:00 PM 6/03/02 “ALMOND Brothers???? Sorry, Strat... I just fell outta my chair! LMFAO!” 12:40:41 AM 6/04/02 “Well, there was the "Mark-Almond Band" about twenty years ago.....John Mark and Johnny Almond. Warren Haynes(Government Mule) has played with The Allman Brothers. Anybody want a custom made guitar? He plays a wicked Les Paul.” 6:48:52 AM 6/04/02 childhood misconceptions “yeah well, spellin don't count when i'm screamin a lead to "one way out" govt mule-WAY cool” 8:53:14 AM 6/04/02 “Where you born A.D.(after Duane) or B.C.(before Cream)?” 9:39:25 AM 6/04/02
