Snow Creek Falls, Yosemite: A Trip Repor tView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 9 of 9 messages posted.
Snow Creek Falls, Yosemite “I've just posted the pictures and trip report of a day hike that I took a few weeks back up the Snow Creek Falls Trail in Yosemite. Check it out at: The Backcountry: Snow Creek Falls Enjoy!” 6:58:14 PM 6/02/02 “HM, that was friggin' beautiful! I haven't been to Mirror Lake in probably 35 years. We used to use that as a base camp from Lone Pine to attack Whitney. Awsome, man, I am envious!” 7:09:14 PM 6/02/02 “FG, Glad you liked it. I think you've got the wrong "Mirror Lake". The one I referred to is in Yosemite, and it's actually more of a Meadow then a lake. I'll be attacking Whitney in August. Can't wait!” 8:12:42 PM 6/02/02 “Great pics and captions Mike. How long was your hike?” 11:04:04 PM 6/02/02 Very Nice “I've got to get up there more often!” 12:51:08 AM 6/03/02 “There was a large "Mirror Lake" deep in Yosemite Valley many years ago that was reknown for its beauty and reflections of Half Dome. But it became greatly reduced over the years for some reason. I believe you two are talking about the same lake.” 1:31:39 AM 6/03/02 “Right you are Phil” 2:15:24 AM 6/03/02 “Nice Job Hikin' Mike.” 6:46:23 AM 6/03/02 “packratThe hike was about 8 miles round trip. I left the car around 8:30-9am and got back around 4:30-5pm. I stayed at the top for close to 2 hours. There are at least two "Mirror Lakes" that I know of. One in Yosemite that Phil mentioned (the one in my hike), that one is turning into a meadow. The second that Father Goose mentions is on the way to Mount Whitney. It would be nice if once a name is taken, it wouldn't be used again. Sure would save on confusion, but I guess they'd run out of names too quickly!” 9:56:03 AM 6/03/02
