Good report! Was that a controlled burn (looking down the falls)?

Yes. We saw a little more of it on our way in.

Yeah, Wind Walker, I've car-camped at the wawona campground dozens of times, but never did any hiking there until this winter when I went to Wawona Point. I've always heard about Chilnualna Falls, finally had to check it out myself. I'm going to go back there and complete that trip...someday.

Hey Hikin Mike, Nice photos. If you think Chilnualna Creek had a lot of water in it on your trip, you shoulda been there the day of the New Year's flood ('97?). We walked down to the creek from the cabin we had rented and watched it for a while - downright scary. Some time after we bailed out, the bridge near the trailhead was washed out. Yikes!

Yeah martyb it was in '97. Hey HikinMike, we were in there over the Mem weekend too! Just did the tourist thang with the wife, kids, and Mamaw from NC. Did the valley sites, Glacier Pt, saw your controlled burn, did lunch at Wowona Inn, and checked out Mariposa Grove. LOL, all my life nearly I've wanted to drive thru that huge Seq tree, and that weekend found out that it fell before I was even born!! Couldn't do any backpacking unfortunately, but got me a new Gregory Forester and Stubai Ultralight crampons and Tikka headlight for when I can go!!!!

YoBear you rite! That just might be a new place for my ashes to reside one'a these days... I'll go back and let ya know.

Nice storyline and photos there Mike. Fun outing.

That's an interesting trip originating near Wawona. Wouldn't have expected that. There's so much of Yosemite to see, eh?

Thanks for sharing your journal.
