My wife and I are thinking of taking another couple to Fall Creek Falls in middle Tennessee for an overnight trip. I have never been there, so I wanted to hear other people's comments on the place. We are looking at the two Cane Creek Loop Trails. One guide book I have says the Lower Loop is a moderate hike and the Upper Loop is a strenous hike. A different book says the Lower Loop is a strenous hike and the Upper Loop is a moderate hike. I don't want to make the trip too hard since the two wives are coming along. Has anyone done either trail? Which is more enjoyable?

FCF is my favorite state park in TN. Although, I've never used the overnight hiking trails. Sorry I can't help you there.

Have a good time!

I like the upper loop better myself. The Lower loop looks funner on the map but there isn't really much to see.

Well I did try and do the upper loop a few years ago. It was in BAD shape. The trail was overgrown and the ticks there are terrible.
So if I were you I would go down in. That would be harder I have hiked some there. But I can't stand overgrown trails you can't even find and ticks. The trip we took I sat and got 100 off of my husband.
It is a beautiful place and I did love it. Just not backpacking there.
