Looking for companion(s)
Planning a week long lazy backpack/
dayhike trip into the edge of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in S. Oregon.
Great swimming in Chetco River if hot and dayhikes up and down rough trails if it's not too hot. I'm still in rehabilitation for a back injury so I can't carry the pack day after day so my plan is to get into the Wilderness and set up camp and dayhike/swim explore the river day after idyllic day. sigh..
the place is magical and very wild
I have a friend who might join me after the 4th of July with his dog but no one to start out with yet.

Well goodluck, nuppy. It sounds like a great trip. Maybe Biz will see this and think about joining you, since she moved to Oregon recently.

Thanks LyndyS
I will be driving down the coast from Newport, OR as I live in Corvallis. Going past Florence, Coos Bay and then to Brookings right near the CA border. The trailhead is East of Brookings and requires 10-15 miles of driving on a well-maintained gravel road. I am willing to give a ride to someone along the way. Alternate routes could take me through Eugene, Medford and Grants Pass. My car is an old beater but it still runs!
