Savage Gulf June 8-9

“For anyone interested in a middle TN backpack this weekend, I going to Savage Gulf on the Stone Door side. This trip will be a repeat of the one that Walkindude led earlier in the year. We will take the Big Creek Gulf trail to Alum Campsite with a side trail to Ranger Falls. After setting up camp we can hike to Greeter Falls. On Sunday, we'll hike out the Big Creek Rim trail. “Beautiful hike...but it was 95 today...and that last ascent almost killed this out of shape youngin back when it was nice and kewl. It would definitely off me in this heat. Who has snow?..i'll come hike with ya'll!”

“I'm heading out tommorrow for 4 days to help work on the Cumberland Trail at Piney River. Looks like we might get a bit of rain. I hope so. Maybe it won't be so hot!”

“According to the weather report, we are supposed to have somewhat cooler weather this weekend. Anyway, I expect it to be cooler on the plateau than in Nashville.”
