Fritz, I was thinking in the spring of posting a thread to organize a mountain bike ride for the day at maybe Jim Thorpe or something. I know Pennsy isn't too far from there and I think he knows the area. It's about 65 miles from me so we can probably determine something that would work for everyone.

Ductape, that's awesome! I can't afford a gym right now, but I'm starting to do pushups and crunches in addition to my running. I'm going to go slow with anaerobics and work my way up and start buying weights so I can work out at home. I miss weightlifting, I used to be huuuuuuuge. :-)

Ductape, that is fantastic to lose that much weight over a year, and you did it by being so disciplined about exercising.

So I started the Zyban to quit smoking today. I will quit Dec 31st. I reached one of my goals this morn, I did 100 pushups non-stop. I wanted to be able to do this before I turn 30 in a short spell.

I have found the race that will motivate me to quit smoking, it worked last year for about 5months. Hopefully it'll work for good.

Birch, I probably shouldn't bust on you about smoking, I haven't even met you yet. I just remember how pleased you were last year with your physical fitness achievements, and I'd love to see you kick that smoking habit.

So what race(s) are you looking at?

Fritz, I appreciatte all the reminders I can get regarding my smoking...

I hopefully will be racing with Buddha as Team HMWHC. But I also plan on a few solo's.There is atrail marathon/half-marathon that I plan on doing (the half anyway). The biggy is June 28th in Shawnee Ohio. Its the Benchmark Appalachian Adventure a 60mile multi-discipline deal. I will do this one solo. The races I plan on doing are all put on by www.hfpracing.com a pretty good outfit. I may actually try to hit up a couple local companies for sponsorship to cover my costs, we shall see.

So while at Home Depot yesterday I picked up some 3/4 inch poly rope (1060lb test). I got a 48' cut, I then tied small knots every 10" or so. I climbed about 35'up in my maple out back and tied it up. I now have a climbing rope!!! I made it halfway yesterday and all but 5ft today.I can feel some tightness in my upperback. When I was 155# I could climb a 40' rope with no legs. At 185# it aint so easy...yet.

Just had a wonderful 5 mile run outside in the high 30's. First time off the treadmill in too long. It felt good to run with the dogs, they loved it. Added up my total mileage for the past year,800.7 miles I've run! Gotta love it !!!!!
