Just ran for over 45 minutes non-stop. Man, I've got a huge endorphine buzz going! Running rocks! I feel it sometimes after a strenuous hike, but whenever I run hard it's more intense. It's the healthy way to get high!

I'm not a good runner by any stretch of the imagination but I bike a bit. I ride 3-4 times a week on 25-35 mile rides. Depends on whether I am doing some climbs or if I'm just doing a lot of spinning. It helps me out in the stamina and overall endurance department when hiking for sure.

Sirpete, it really does help. I started running on a consistant basis last February, and my hiking stamina has increased big time. It's great!

true dat!
Runners high is great. I have recently taken up mountain biking and trail running and combine the two 2 times a week for a whopper of a workout.-

Endorphines do rock!

Wednesday I ended a quick trip in the Pemigewassett Wilderness (WMNF NH)-Hiked out 10 miles, drove 3 hours home-was still feeling great-biked to work (?8-9 miles). Worked all night, then biked home. The trip to work was the fasted I'd done this year.

I think there are drugs that basically instruct the body to dump a lot of endorphins, but I could be wrong.

An endorphin cereal, LOL! At least all one has to do is go for a long run or a steep, strenuous hike to get a good endorphin rush. It's so relaxing...!

That is true. However, I have always claimed that it was a result of my magnetic personality. ;)

Oh yeah, I'm still in a high. Our dragonboat team were the Grand Champion in yesterday's race...we won the 500 meters race (we beat the next best team by a half boat length). But they won the 250 meters race by a dragon head (about 4 inches).

Our team raced 8 times Sun....it was a rush everytime...we won 7 out of 8 races....Yeee Ha...
