'Cause I got a baby
“An english shepherd, 7 weeks old, he's such a sweetie :)
I need a name for this guy, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of an explorer or voyaguer... what do u guys think, i'm having a hard time coming up with something with meaning, a little more original, thanks.”
“You could sell the naming rights like baseball teams do for their stadiums, get lotsa money for it.
Here's my dog, Microsoft! Ain't he cute?
Voyaguer sounds kinda neat, but wieldy when you call the pooch. Can't be shortened easily to a diminutive version: Here Voy!
He's your pooch, so it has to be something you feel comfortable with.”
Here`s why,...from now until he slips away from you he will be led around by that cold wet nose of his and you did say 7 weeks old? There`ll be a trail of distruction behind him for a few months. Those puppy teeth just gotta be sunk into everything, soft or hard and aboth the time you decide to file `em down he`ll shed those and get some real ones in that can do the damage puppy teeth just couldn`t muster up.LOL
Oh, good luck with your puppy and on finding him a name. I like Indian names for dogs, but that`s just me.
Might as well just call him Devil`s Spawn for the time being and wait around and see what name fits him in a few months.”
“I'm tempted to suggest Buggerer, but I won't...
How about Lewis? or Clark?”
“She said English sheepdog, not English #&%!$dog!”
“Okay, then "British-Pooper?" :-)”
Lets get a few things straight
“I'm a he, not a she
I have a english shepherd puppy, not an english sheep dog
he's doin alright so far, i've got a list of names that i like, not really any particular reason, i just need a name that sounds good, and i have a hard time deciding, i'll take votes, what do u think?
Morpheus - since we're on the topic
Mechta - first russian space probe sent to the moon, missed it's shot and fell into orbit around the sun - (the dream)
Alexander - (Alex)
Omega - last greek letter
Ursa - bear in greek”
“Of the names you listed, Simer, I like Forest the best. However, be prepared for lots of jokes involving a box of chocolates if you chose that one.”
“What's your sign? That's a possibility.”
“Hmmm... an English explorer... with a connection to the Northwest Passage, perhaps?
Just remember, you're going to be yelling that name in public... <G>”
“theres also adm. perry, admunson(sp?), piccard, leif, eric the red , eric the horrible, marco. so many explorers to pick from!”
“What about calling it bacpac.”
You're supposed to be voting
or how about a greek god... like Thor”
give me a poll here”
“I like "Thor"”
“Mmy 1st born is named forrest(1 year before the movie!) so that's out
call hime trek for short.”
“ESP or espy -English Sheperd Puppy.”
“You gotta name the dog something you can holler off the back porch. Try a few out first.”
“Thor is not a Greek god”
“I norse that.
I'll put in a vote for 'Hudson'... I was already thinking 'Henry'.”
“ahh, what's the difference
i was trying to figure that out, don't matter
why's it have to be such a tough decision?”
“How about one you'll surely use often so he dosen't get confused?
“nobody seems to like neo, it's a popular vote among the younger crowd
i think it's between forest and neo for me now... or maybe it could be forester - just forest for short”
“Like Idhiker said, try hollering it off the back porch. If the dog looks at you like you're talking funny, try something else. When the dog comes, he's picked his own name.”
“Call him "Sit."
"Come, Sit! Come, Sit!"
He'll end up as nuts as we all are.”
“McKenzie - The explorer that reached the pacific overland years before Lewis and Clark. He was from the UK working for the Hudson Company I believe. Did this in Canada. Mac for short.”
“I thought Henry Hudson was Dutch. Ah well, can't remember as far back as middle school anymore.
I like Churchhill or Hudson, actually.”
