I need your help

“I need your help. This is no joke. I need to send Charit Creek Lodge a deposit for the Titanium Chef reservations. I can't afford to write a check of that size right now.

As many of us that are on here, $15 from each of you would get me there fast. I need to raise $500. Anything over that amount will NOT go in my pocket. It will go as donation to CTC (Cumberland Trails Conference), and organization developing a North-South corridor right thru the state.

I will even go as far to post my mailing address here, and will make all funds public record. Titanium Chef 2002 will happen!”

“Charit Creek Lodge wants their money now. I probably got 14 days, maybe even 30. I sent them an email today asking when was the last day for me to send in the deposit.”

You still have to HIKE to get to it. There is not asphalt parking lot, and there will be no red carpet once you arrive with champayne on ice.

“Amazing! Thank you thank you!!.. wow.. I was so afraid I was going to read this thread and find no one was even responding. OK, thought about this for the weekend. The donation is tax-deductible. Of course it is.

1) Suppose you don't go. Then the donation is tax-deductible because we will sell your reserved space in the cabin to someone else, and your contribution will go straight to CTC.

2) Suppose you do go. Then the donation is tax-deductible because this is in part sponsored by TTA.
Either way you can't lose. If 40-50 people will take time to send $15, then the entire lodge is ours for the weekend. We got four cabins, that each sleep 12, we got a kitchen, we got front porches. We got a beautiful meadow to hold the competition in.

I want everyone to come. Last year we had 46 ppl there, and it was a hoot. This year, we think we will hit 100 easily. My thanks to everyone who has already reponded.

Trust me on this one. You won't want to miss it, but it won't happen if you don't help. We got all sorts of folks that post on this board every day. Don't you want to meet them?

Can you tell me any place on earth that is safe for us and our families that will accomodate 100 people or more?

“Personally?.. I'd like to see 500 people in 2003. I'd like this event to be so huge that the West Coast decides they want an event of their own.

I'd like it to be a place where every hiker and backpacker joins together for one weekend, and shares their best tales.

I'd like for commercial outfitters and equipment manufacturers to make this the 'event of the year'.

Radio coverage. TV coverage. People would schedule vacations, and miss work just to be there.

I'd like for it to be the biggest and most incredible idea that we never dreamed could turn into such a HUGE event.”
