Redwoods in danger?

An organism that is wiping out the tanoak and other western deciduous trees has been found in the famed California coastal redwoods. While it is uncertain whether the disease poses a threat to redwoods as a species, it has been found in several dead redwoods recently.

Anybody hear anything recently about this? The news broke earlier this year but there's been almost nothing since.

It was discovered last Fall in a small grove of Redwoods. Still unclear whether the fungus will kill conifers.
