well for the last month msn has been trying toscam people to buy more storage for their hotmail accts.
To convince that u need this crap MSN bypasses your junk mail filters and jams your junk mail folder with at least(iin my case)50 spams a day.
Then if u dont read or dump their junk mail they freeze your acct til you do dump it.Thats what they did to me.
I also got a notice that says that if u dont access your acct for 90days they will suspend or just cancel it(?).
I know the time is coming when hotmail will nolonger be free.
THere is one thing for sure, MSN will never get my real info or credit card number!

From Hotmail FAQ:
What does it mean when my account becomes "inactive"?

Currently, if you do not sign in to your MSN Hotmail account for 30 days, or if you do not sign in within the first 10 days, your account will become "inactive." Stored e-mail and addresses will be permanently deleted, and inbound e-mail will be refused. Your .NET Passport will still function, and your Hotmail e-mail name will be reserved. To reactivate your account, go to http://www.hotmail.com and enter your sign-in name and password. You will then be able to send and receive e-mail using MSN Hotmail once again. If your account stays inactive for an additional 90 days, it will be permanently deleted.

So much for free internet services. Everyone's grubbing money nowdays.

Anyone know of a good, free email service with no strings attached?

I have a yahoo account as well, and I've been pretty well pleased with it. I don't get much spam at all, but I also don't use it a lot.
They give you 6MB of storage, and you can buy more for a small fee. I can check my home email using yahoo, which comes in handy. They try to get you to upgrade your storage, but they aren't annoying about it.

I never did get much spam on my home account, until my wife gave out my email address at our daughter's school. Every time I get a mailing from someone involved with the school, I start getting more spam.

Another thing I like about Yahoo is that...
You not only get email but basically you get a virtual office as well. There is a "Briefcase" where I can move files to from work, then grab them at home. All in all Yahoo is a good choice
