I need (your) help
I know when I last posted, I said TTFN. It was due to me not feeling I was getting "value" commensurate with the hours I spent hanging with you all. One thing I have known for some time, is that there are many sharp folks here with varied expertise and talents. I need help and thought, "gee, who can I turn to for help with this?" My problem is I have kids; kids who are constantly doing "stuff" to this computer. Now I am facing a monitor with relativelly tiny characters. They all plead ignorance. i've gone to change the display settings and they all seem to be still at the normal settings. I'm using XP and didn't want to get into the accesability features as we are not dealing with a handicap here. They ceased being treated as handicaps when they were born.
Any ideas??? Thanks.

If it is just in your browser, look under "View" and change the font size. If it is on everything, try changing the resolution on your settings, under display.

I have a kid like that. He crashed his first computer at age 11 or so, changing the display settings for a game to some that were not compatible with the computer. A couple of years later he crashed the computer of a friend. Unfortunately the friend was also an accountant with a home business. Ouch.

Ok try this got to the Appearance's and theme's folder then click on display then from there you can change your font size.

I hope that helps you.

now they've really done it!!!
So, this afternoon I get a call from the wife. The kids were playing on the computer again (as usual) and they get this funky message, something to the effect of "unmountable boot volumn." Now, I've never encountered anything that can't be mounted in some way, but the wife reports the machine is dead in the water. Blue screen of death etc... Anyone know a remedy to this? Is it XP related? Any good deals on Macs out there? j/k about the macs, I still gotta finish paying for the PC! Any usual suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That's one thing I really love about lockouts and admin rights. It prevents stuff like this. You need to get them into computer classes as they know just enough to be lethal.

Limpy, get access to the web and do a google search for unmountable boot volume. Plenty of fixes available. Sounds like a corrupted driver. Or just reinstall XP if nothing else is viable. Good Luck!
