In California you can go to "Traffic School" in most instances and the ticket doesn't go on your record if if you have been clean for a year or more. BUT, if you go to fight the ticket and lose, you lost your chance at traffic school.

Most of the judges here don't care what you have to say. If the officer testifies from his notes, you are probably dead meat. Your best chance is that the officer doesn't show up.

The last ticket I got was probably so some CHP officer could get his quota.

“Of all my friends who have tried to fight tickets here in California, most lose. If the cop shows up, the judge usually just rubber stamps the ticket and could care less what the victim has to say.

Unfair tickets, speed traps, and inaccurate information on tickets breeds mistrust with the police. Too bad the police and city officials don't realize that.
