Just curious who's living it up weekend after next. I'm going to visit the in-laws and my own parents as well. No fifth on the fourth for me.

Maybe two!!!!
Here in Cody, the bars are allowed to stay open 24 hours a day over the holiday.

Lookout tourists!!!!!!!

I think that's why they outlawed horses in bars here.

I'm Living It Up The 2nd And 3rd
Going to see the Allman Bros and Phil & Friends on the 2nd. Then Moe., Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade and Jazz Mandolin Project on the 3rd.

I'll be recovering on the 4th ;)

Is Dickie back with them. If not, you're not seeing the Allman Bros. It's just another cover band!

I'm taking my RV to Point Mallard Park in Decatur, AL tomorrow - in order to snag a good camping spot. There is a "Spirit of America" festival at Point Mallard every year and it's lots of fun. Marty Stuart will perform the night of the 3rd, and on the 4th there will be lots of cool events including fireworks ... and it's FREE!!

There is a parade for kids on the 4th and I've already started decorating my kids wagon for the parade. My 12 yr old will be pulling the 5 yr old in the wagon.

Fun stuff.

If you have a fifth on the fourth you might not come forth on the fifth.

I'm going to the in-laws in Oregon, my bro-in law is having his reception on the 5th. Weird thing about wedding receptions, I almost always end up drunk. Go figure.

Is that John Mayall of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers fame? An early Clapton band. That would be nice but for the 3000 mile distance. Oh to be out West.

That sounds fun MDS. My wife is actually hiking into Sipsey with me. This is a first. This first hiking experience better be good, or else!

Another Cover Band???...I Think Not
Too bad we can't go back in time, eh? Dickey certainly didn't write all or even half the tunes, and anyways, he's doing his own thing touring rib cookoffs...so it appears we all have to accept what is current. However, with Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, the rest of the crew and Gregg off his stuff, they are a new breath of lively fresh air...and with Phil and Friends, who knows who'll sit in with them.

Dickey might not have written them all,but he played them all and NOBODY can play Allman Bros. tunes like Dickey can play 'em!

going to be on the road for about 10 days
I'll be packing up the camper and heading up the Glen Arbor, MI for a wedding this weekend, leaving tomorrow. On Sunday, we will be making our way back to the Manistee, Nordhouse, Luddington area, until Wednesday, when we drive to the Grand Rapids to pick up our son. Then it is off to Kent City, MI for the yearly friends 4th celebration. Then we will return on Monday, maybe....

Biz and I are getting married that weekend, so I'll definately be doing a fifth on the 4th.

BTW: Everyone is welcome to the bachelor party.

BTW2: OK, we're really not getting married, just living together.

BTW3: Allright, allright, you're on to me, we aren't living together, I just wanted to have a bachelor party. Damn, and she probably thought I was a sure thing!

Really, folks, help me out here. I can't properly heckle the band if I don't remember the writer of their #1 song. I remember that she had her own website and was from Tennessee.

If you have a fifth on the fourth and attempt to drive, you could end up pleading the fifth and getting the sixth (degree).

lyra, it was many moons ago and far, far away.

It depends on how many buttons one eats.

We saw ravens soaring upward on thermals out of the Grand Canyon.

The December wind was cold at the South Rim and the colors of the rock strata were stunning in the late afternoon sun.
