i have a burning question about acronyms. if you have a few of one thing, represented by an acronym, like a few Very Important People, do you write "VIPs" or do you put an apostrophe in there? as in "VIP's"? i always see people do that, but it's not possessive, so it drives me nuts! on the other hand, it does look sort of awkward to have just the little "s" hanging on there.

i think i have way too much time on my hands...but for real, i've been wondering!
