“i was going threw some old photo's of backpacking trips and found a pic, of a friend, with his son , and sons buddy,,,so here we go, july 4 weekend 2000, my friend jeff and i are going packing to slyamore, in the ozarks, i get to the spot about an 1day before them to enjoy it alone,,, the three come walking up (they river packed it) jeff then his son then, cain the sons buddy he was back a ways they had him pulling the mini raft with beer and food(this was cains first backpacking trip) i asked jeff why he did that he said he wanted to , cain is fourteen and 6 foot 180 no kidding,,,, i sold him my old kelty redcloud,6000.cubinc any way as he is unloading it i notice that he is pulling out largen cans beans,candy in boxes,gummy bears , two six backs of coke(& dr,pepper),one carton of cigs(14 remember)as i watched this i asked jeff why he didn't show him how to back and what to bring,, no answer,,, and at this point i look over and he is pulling out a large bundle of wood, (the kind you get at the store, that sitts out side),,i almost started to laugh,,, but instead ask why he brought it ,AND HE REALLY SAID TO ME,,,HE DIDN'T THINK THERE WOULD BE ANY WOOD OUT HEAR SO HE BROUGHT IT AS EMERGENCY WOOD JUST IN CASE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Last year, the Michiganders and I were camping somewhere in MI, and a nice young couple pulled up next to our campsite. As they unloaded the truck, the guys in our group couldn't help notice the 18 year old Brittny Spears look alike with her 3" heals, slowly unloading the truck with her boyfriend. After the tent was set up, something very unexpected happened. They boyfriend pulled from the bed of his pick-up, a Sealy Queen sized mattress, and plopped it into the tent (after much coaxing). While he was "making the bed", the little lady was..... get this, sweeping the dirt in front of the tent with a broom. I haven't been car camping since.”

“I'll admit that the first free-standing tent I bought was had a hexagonal footprint. So, I went to the local foam store and had them make me a piece of foam to fit my hexagonal tent. Good car campin days, them was.”
