Ugh. What a heartbreak. I was really pulling for him, too. 60 stitches and all...

Now how stupid is he! All he has to do is bank his own blood during the off season and no prob! Thank God criminals are stupid!

I have missed the last few days. That sucks. I am glad he was caught. I hate to believe that the doping is so endemic. Now I know how baseball fans feel.

That's what makes the Landis/Armstrong fracas so suspect in my book. How come it is only a few select riders who have gotten nailed and why is there so much shady dealings about the evidence? But anyway, unfortunately I suspect that cycling, like any sport now is full of those who seek any advantage to win.

Hmmm, I wonder how many of the uber-posters are on steroids?

THe French police just escorted an Italian rider away from the race for doping. Sheesh.

As Treebait so astutely observed last night:

Tour de France = French NASCAR

I'd say the course is a lot more interesting than round and round and round and round...

Floyd Landis, tour de france rider, lost his appeal and must give up the 2006 title. he may appeal it to a higher court.

it's a shame that his entire career has been as the sacrificial cow for Lance Armstrong. He is so talented in and of himself.

He'll be back with a vengence.

Chappy, I did get your email and replied, yesterday, I believe. It was "lost" for a few days, my junk mail sorter has been overly aggressive!

Doing good. I think I am on track to do the 100 mile ride. Getting excited. Very amazing event. Portland, the Nike World Headaquarters, thousands of walkers, runners and riders, cancer survivors, supporters and Lance. He usually has a friend or two along. Down 10 lbs since I stepped up my training.

Just resent the email in case you did not get it.

I was watching the news tonight and was surprised to hear Lance Armstrong is planning on riding in the Tour next year. Should be interesting.

First Michel Jordan, then Bret Farve, now Lance Armstrong. Why don't people know when to call it quits? In my opinion, he should stay retired. He went out on the top of his game, and on his terms. Many athletes aren't so lucky.

Barry Sanders is one who went out with class and perfect timing.

on one hand, i agree with you, mocs, but on the other hand, i can understand why they come back. it's been almost 20 years since i was involved competitively in track and field, but i still think about it alot and wish i could still do it

I fear this will not turn out well. That said, it will add a lot of interest to next year's race if he makes it.

That whole team is in a shambles after last year's doping scandal. It makes one wonder why he wants to come back with that team. Unless it's just because he worked with the coach or trainer before.
