I recieved this e-mail today...
Subject: World's largest grizzly bear killed.

This guys was lucky he had more than a pistol!
Here's one for all the hunters out there!
The following pictures are of a guy who works for the forest service in Alaska. He was out deer hunting. A large...large world record Griz charged him from about 50 yards away. The guy unloaded a 7mm Mag Semi-auto into the bear and it dropped a few feet from him. The thing was still alive so he reloaded and capped it in the head. It was over 1,600+ (one thousand six hundred pounds), 12'6" high at the shoulder. It's a
world record. The bear had killed a couple of other people. Of course, the game department did not let him keep it. Think about it. This thing on it's hind legs could walk up to the average single story house and could look on the roof at eye level. I would need clean underwear after this..........

*Note these pics are a little bloody...not sure if this is real or not but it looks real*

Dang! Unless the man in those pictures is a midget, that is one big a$$ bear. He's lucky those bullets hit the right things. I've read where someone shoots up a big grizzly and all it does is pi$$ it off.

7mm is a rifle
its not exactly a small caliber but its usually used for deer etc not no mammoth bear like dat!!

the 7 mag with its high velocity (4000 fps +)delivers tremendous energy. Outside of the "exotic" calibers, the .300 Mag may be the only thing any hotter.

I have always heard it was enough gun for anything in North America, now I believe it.

isnt it a .45 more lethal than a 9mm?isnt a 9mm bigger than 7mm?if a 45 is bigger than 9mm how is it less powerful?What the hell is 30 odd 6?what does .45 ,9mm, .303 stand for?inches or mm?Always found those numbers confusing...

davex, It's not the size of the bullet that matters, it's the speed. Pistol amunition has alot less powder than rifle amunition and cannot attain the speeds of rifle amunition. 30/06 is a 30 caliber round which made it's debut in 1906.
