An article in the Birmingham news stated that: "two young men who were friends were digging out around a house foundation with shovels". While digging one of the men happened to get a wasp up his pants. The other man thought that he had cut into an electrical wire. So he hit him with his
shovel to knock him off of the electrical wire. The young man ended up in the hospital with a broken collar bone and a wasp sting on his leg.

More of the story
When interviewed in the hospital, Jethro Bodine had this to say, " I just can't wait to get out of here. Me and my buddy Bubba are going to try and win a Darwin Award, whatever that is".

I thought this thread had something to do with some kid, grabbing a pair of old running shoes, dangling from electric wires like in the movie, "Like Mike".

We just recently got electricity. We produce it from corn alcohol that's imported from Kansas's sole export.

Since I work for an electric utility, I found this very funny. It also reminded me of my buddy attempting a little practical joke.

He had his hands in a transformer pad and thought it would be funny to start shaking pretending to make contact with a live conductor. He couldn't laugh for the next 20 minutes cuz I knocked the wind out of him with a cross body block. He's lucky I didn't have a shovel!
