Hey, wait a minute.......did I mean to say that?” 8:47:28 AM 7/23/02 “Is that why people keep telling me I should have been a lawyer?” 8:52:25 AM 7/23/02 “Well, bp, I don't want to sound like the pot calling the kettle black,,,,,but....now that you mention it....” 8:58:21 AM 7/23/02 “If a lot of BS makes one a lawyer then we are all very good lawyers here.” 9:15:19 AM 7/23/02 “HPM, believe me, there are plenty good "lawyers" on this site. Some have a degree, some don't. But everyone here is a pretty good advocate.” 9:30:19 AM 7/23/02 “Oldie changed his name to Scabby Pete. Hmmm, is this in an atempt to hide from me and lizs to get out of you Cabana Boy duties?” 2:43:07 PM 7/23/02 See below for name “44 (but I read at a 48 y/o level) H.S. shop teacher 11 weeks vacation per year Single (divorced, but that was looong ago) Reside in north-central GA (or lower north GA) Roadtrips rule! usually try to do one per summer and one during the winter holidays. Oh... and beer.” 4:18:07 PM 8/23/02 bounce “for 2mph and Trekker John or anybody else new who is still lurking.” 2:46:04 PM 9/05/02 “Doing more lurking (listening) than posting until I become more accustomed to the game. Certainly enjoying the day to day jousting though. Live in SE Michigan but the job requires lots of travel and I sometimes wonder where home really is. Single, male, enjoy long deep thought provoking conversations while sitting by a lake under a full moon. Ok, not really, but I am single and male. Have enjoyed backpacking for years though my work allows me little time to get out. Hoping that will change in the future.” 2:50:08 PM 9/06/02 “HMMM.... No Trekker John?” 4:21:34 PM 9/06/02 “Nice going, you all probably drove him to thebasketweaver.com chat site.” 5:11:16 PM 9/06/02 “wheat and chaff, we keep the chaff. ;-)” 5:14:11 PM 9/06/02 Yeah, I bit “I knew something was gonna happen so I asked the wife to watch as I was on HER computer..... she does not appreciate your humor what so ever . . .. My most frequent hiking companion since age 13 has been my wonderdog PatchyG. To compensate for her recent retirement from traildoggin, I ran off and married my 'other' best friend and pal since highschool "Dare." I guess you can call him my new traildog. ;) woof! Been absent from TT for quite a while, so it was fun to wade through this thread - which is surprisingly civil! I love this place and have many fond memories of hanging out with some great TTers, both on-line and in the woods. I once dined with George Harrison. I've lived in a third-world country. I usually hate my job, but love my volunteer work. I am successful at both. Being out in nature is what I live for. A true tomboy as a child, I would still rather climb a tree or jump in the lake, than go to the gym... When's the last time YOU climbed a tree?! The less you have, the less you have to worry about. Blessed be all. Now, go take on the day! Peace.” 8:30:12 AM 9/07/02 “Why AmyG, people been talking about you.” 8:40:43 AM 9/07/02 “If you think things have been civil, and you are worried, check out how people are getting welcomed. ;-) How do I reply to a thread” 8:42:27 AM 9/07/02 8:44:18 AM 9/07/02 8:45:19 AM 9/07/02 “sigh it just warms the heart to see how you all make newcomers feel so welcome. heheheh Thanks, Path. Whatever people have been saying, its lies. All Lies! OK, possibly its true. >:)” 8:54:47 AM 9/07/02 Bringing this back up for all the newbies “Mystery Guest, please sign in! Don't believe Trekker John, we are as kind and gentle as they come.” 10:08:24 AM 9/26/02 “All the newbies have to sign in.” 7:37:14 PM 5/06/04 Sup... “..nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina...(well maybe if we had a lottery) Carlette...34...gathering no moss in the tarheel state. Go Pack! Keep it real...keep rollin” 8:05:09 PM 5/06/04 What's up, doc? “Name's George. I'm 25 and am originally from Astoria, NY. I grew up in between central NJ and the Catskill Mountains of NY. Currently live near Princeton, NJ (not necessarily willingly). I'm an Eagle Scout -- love hiking, love camping, so naturally backpacking would result from that. Actually, I like to do anything that involves being outdoors, including skiing in the winter. Professionally, I'm a programmer for a local company here. Hockey rules! (though the Rangers have been kinda lousy lately -- I'm sure they'll turn that around soon......hopefully.....maybe) I like any type of music that rocks. "Go confidently forward in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you\'ve imagined." -Henry David Thoreau Rock on, little dudes! Mostly car camped and day hiked ALLTHOUGH I do want to do the real thing: backpack, just not solo for the first time.
