It's On!
I just took a vote and decided unanimously to go on strike from Major League Baseball until further notice.

I have been a fan all of my life, ever since my daddy took me out to Shibe Park and I saw that green green grass and those red and oatmeal uniforms and smelled the popcorn and hot dogs.

I still love baseball, so it looks like Reading and Allentown will get my money when I get the urge for a ballgame.

Yeah, the All Stink game had that same effect on me. Until they get their act together in more ways than one I'm happier without the Majors.

I went to a lovely minor league game last night, and as a bonus, met an old friend who I hadn't seen in nine years.

My take on the current baseball situation: It's the player's fault this time. Not that the owners aren't lying, conniving, stupid, and answering for a century's worth of bad karma. But the players need to give in this time.

'Nuff said.

I lived northern FL during the Braves days of the sixties, Dayton OH during the days of the Big Red Machine, Houston for the Astros under Sparkie Anderson and in Oakland with Rickie Henderson, McGuire et al. Nothing like live baseball or listening covertly with your transitor radio hidden under your pillow.

I began my "slowdown" during the last strike and have since lost all interest.

I'll take my son to the minor league games when we get a team back next year, but the Majors are victims of their own greed and success. Adios!

I agree with most of your sentiments, however I'm going to wait to see if the players actually go on strike before I give up. It is very disgusting all that's going on, but I need something to tide me over until football starts, so I'm gonna wait a bit and see what happens...

Good God man, I can't wait until football season starts!

I went on strike after the last strike. I've been to probably 5 games since then...

I'm ready for something else... at least I have the Tour de France til' the end of July... then football in August!

Bring on the AFC South! The Colts are gonna kick some REDNECK A$$

I've gone to two games since the last strike. The last game at Tiger Stadium and a game two years ago in Comerica National Park.

But, really, nobody around here has been going to the games for 10 years anyway and it hasn't helped.

The problems are intractable. Some teams are just going to have to go bankrupt.

BTW, the headline in the sports page of the Detroit papers yesterday was RED WINGS OPEN IN SAN JOSE because the NHL released its schedule.

ROFLMAO at that statement...lets see when the Titans played the Colts in the playoffs 2 yrs ago who ruled the RCA Dome...It was the Titans Fans, they had so many people there that they started a chat that Manning sucked. They were so loud that the Colts fans couldn't even drown them out....talk about fan support for the home team...ROFL

Bring it on the Titans will be the FIRST DIVISION CHAMPS OF THE AFC SOUTH

I remember when they were the Balmer Cotes and Johnny Unitas came out there in his hightop shoes and disassembled the opposing defense with less than two minutes on the clock to eke out a win.

You had to be up at least 8 to win with two minutes or less or the best you could get was a tie.

Then they stole the team away.

Dungy knows defense.. it'll definitely help the Colts big time this year.

Please, don't let this very important baseball bashing thread go to waste, stick to topic!

I am on strike. The union needs to go, and a governing body (not MLB the company) needs to run baseball. Minor leagues, here I come (that's where all our supposed talent is anyway).

Baseball sucks! If the greedy bastards were striking so that the janitorial and other support staff at the local stadium got more money or better benefits I'd be happy but these jerks are spoiled a-holes!

Bring on football season! Go Colts!

Ewker 2 years ago is a long time... both our teams sucked last season... we will see who's going and who's crying in a few months!

Glad to see this thread.
There's only two things wrong with baseball. 1. The Owners, (led by Bud Selig). 2. The players.
Other than that, baseball is fine. I have only been to one game since the last strike. It is sad what these greedy @ssholes can do to such a great sport.

You see these films about baseball in the old days (HBO's When it Was a Game, etc), and the nostalgia gets you. Then you watch a real game and you wonder what happened.

I'm not even watching games on television. I don't care whether the Phlubs win or lose, trade Scott Rolen or let him rot. I may even boycott their sponsors.

The soccer game between the Philly Charge and Washington was great. Nice to see athletes who care about the game, don't dog it, and pay attention to the fundamentals.

I've been on strike from pro football since the last strike. I prefer college ball, and take in the Army-Navy game every year.

Don't like pro hoops either, and pro hockey is not what it once was back in the days of the Rocket, Gordie Howe, the Golden Jet, Le Grand Belleveau, and Gumper.
