Any Tom Brown Tracker School Students?
Hello

I'm an experienced outdoorsman, but a total Trail Talk newbie - I just signed up today. I'm looking for other students of Tom Brown's tracker school. I want to hook up with others who want to work on the skills, especially in California. Anybody out there?

Also- I'm looking for people experienced in the Big Sur backcountry.

Peace-

Griff

Griff, have the books...can't afford the classes. Hope they were worth every penny and you learned alot. I was more interested in his survival class than the tracking. Cool that you got to partake.

I think all the Californians are at Montanapalooza

Not all of us got to go to Montanapalooza... although I would have liked to!

Griff...watcha trakin'?
Be careful tracking those bobcats ;) Haven't attended any tracking schools but I do find it interesting. On some of the less traveled trails in my area you can spot all kinds of tracks right on the trail. Seen lots of Mountain Lion tracks on the way in to Maggie Lakes ...but still haven't seen that critter in the wild...someday I'll catch a glimpse of one.

I took an Ab Taylor man tracking course once, but never one of Tom's. Man tracking is not the same, of course. I did read some of Tom's books and enjoyed them.

I have been to a couple of the courses. Great stuff, recommend them highly. It's nice to develop the feeling that everything in my pack is purely for convience and not "need". Unfortunately don't live anywhere near you.
