Can you recommend isolated camp spot via 4WD roadView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 4 of 4 messages posted.
Recommendation for beautiful 4WD spot NY, NH, VT “Knee is blown out so there goes the backpacking trip with my 9 year old son, but still want to get out and camp for a week. Prefer beautiful, isolated spot accessible by 4WD road somewhere in NY, NH or VT. Recently moved here from out West, not used to seeing so many people when camping. Any recommendations? Thanks much. Jeff” 8:08:01 PM 7/15/02 “Ive never seen any islated spots that have a road leading to them. try a topo map of the area. they frequently have 4wd trails on them.” 12:01:53 PM 7/16/02 “There are fire service roads in Vermont that travel into relatively isolated areas but I don't know of any that are exactly legal to camp off of.” 12:47:30 PM 7/16/02 “Moose River Recreation Area in NY. Passed through there while backpacking the Northville-Placid Trail. Nice primitive area. There are sites near Wakely Dam and also along the dirt road. Free too.” 11:30:12 AM 7/17/02
