I hope you feel better Smiley. When I wake up with my neck like that it takes a week to get back to normal.

Indiana John, I had that same crinkling sensation last week. I have some sinus drainage on that side, but nothing else. I really don't want a cold right now.

Actually it was loud enough to interfere with my hearing. If I tugged on my earlobe it got worse, like bad tv reception. I tried cleaning my ear and that seemed to take care of it.

Crinkle quietly.
Wear earplugs or a head set so the noise doesn't disturb others in the office.

I got one of those contour foam pillows and haven't woken up with cricky neck since. It took about two weeks to get used to the stupid thing but now I'm in love with it.

Sass, I've been sleeping on one the last two nights, and I think that's half of my problem. For some reason, no matter which pillow I use, eventually I end up with a cricky neck. I used to use the foam countour pillow all the time, but switched off of it for a few weeks. I think my neck problems are generally related to stress, so I have to figure out what's stressing me out so much! Ug!!

Hi: 71°F.

Brrr. Our second night of winter. Only one more night of this for this cold snap. BTW, during the day yesterday it was beautiful and I was able to enjoy a nice hike in Econ SF. And when I returned home from swimming at 9 PM, it was still t-shirt weather. After the sun gets to shining, today will be nice, too. Hmmmm, another hike, maybe.

Good morning,

NS - after what you folks in Florida went through this year, you deserve every nice day you get...and I promise not to grumble. Instead of baking bread (sorry Sass, none for you) I went on a 12 mile hike in the crisp & crunchy snow. Gotta make some soon, though. That last loaf of whole wheat is almost gone.

Snakeyes, Do you have a bread machine? They're really wonderfully convienient and pretty inexpensive nowadays. You can measure your ingredients and set a timer so that when you come home six hours later your bread is just finnished baking and ready to eat, or when you wake up in the morning it's to fresh baked bread. The ease almost makes up for not getting your hands in the dough.

I served my time up north! And enjoyed it!!!

Seems to me that you could have stayed out west in a warmer climate. Whenever I have changed my location I have accepted the new location fully and tried to make the most of the opportunities available. Why knock it, when one can enjoy it?

Of course, I post some of our weather just to agitate a few folks. So thanks, it's nice to know that it works sometimes.

Sass - I have a bread machine, I think it's in the garage. Used it once and don't like it...color me old fashioned, I guess. Got 3 loaves of whole wheat rising at the moment. Did a little experimentin' with this one.

NS - Florida - you can have it. Remember it well. going out for another long cold hike in a couple of hours.

Good morning. Coffee is unusually good today. Made wheat bread yesterday, but just can't get it to rise as it should. Tossed in some gluten with the yeast, placed it in a warm oven, but all to no avail. Still mighty tasty, but is rather "condensed". I think the house is just too cold. Oh well, there's more to life than baking bread...today's dayhike for instance.

Hey SE, let your bread dough rise while you're running the dryer. Just set the bowl of dough on top of the dryer and you're good to go. I used to have to do that, too.

Not me Sass! I have a pre-lit tree now, which is the way to go IMO. G's going to go get his tree today (I'm currently in the Chirstmas Capital of the USA) and we're going to decorate it later. I'm going to go hang out with some of the girls (his teacher friends) and do Christmas cards.

Its a beautiful day here. I woke up because of the pain in my neck still - I've been icing and heating it, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Not sure what to do. Headed to church here in a while. Busy, busy day!

I, too, went hiking today. Visited a forest trail along a river. Saw one canoe group. On the trail I met a friendly dog with two beautiful women. (It pays to hike. Cocktail lounges are out.) You'll have to wait for the trip pictures. I need to start carrying my polaroid for some of the special scenery.

BTW, the temperature must have been 80+. I worked up a sweat before meeting the dog.

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Monday!

Well it's been a gross morning so far. One of my neighbor's cats was in a fight, and now has a dime-sized oozing hole by his left ear. At least it's not oozing pus any more, and it doesn't smell, but jeebees that thing is gross! I cleaned it up a bit this morning and my neighbor put pet antibiotic ointment on it. The cat's rubbed most of the fur off of the side of his head, including his ear. I know it's healing, but it's so gross. He also loves all the attention. He'd be a cupcake if he wasn't an outdoor cat. Heck, he is a cupcake.

Other than that, my morning is off to an okay start. My daughter refuses to acknowledge it's time to get up, so she's sleeping in my bed with one of our cats. I think she has the right idea. It's reheated coffee this morning. :(

We put our tree up saturday, got the lights and 98% of the ornaments on last night. It's lovely tree. Here's hoping Laurel doesn't destroy it.

It's been a gross morning here too! My little one threw up last night, and didn't wake up. I didn't hear it so she slept in it all night, poor baby. It was nasty, all dried up in her hair and all over all the babies and stuffed animals. I guess there'll be no preschool this morning.

SG, I'm thinking prelit is definately the way to go, once this artificial dies or one of my little brothers actually gets a home of their own and can use it. Birch and I argued with two strings of lights for about an hour yesterday and finally gave up in disgust and went to aco to buy two more.

sounds like someone drinking a few shooters before heading for the office Christmas party.

Fresh snow here today, maybe 2inches and looking like more. I'd go out and make a snow angel, but not sure that I'm spiritually qualified. I think I'll head out on a fresh snow hike today. That's always special isn't it? Sorry about the following (and not in any special order): Treebait's neighbors cat, Treebait's reheated coffee (yuk), Sass's barfing daughter, the poor barfed on stuffed animals and the lights.
