MY EYES! (To borrow a phrase from another thread.)

Thanks for the quadradic equation. In intro stats, I had to memorize that bugger and then compute solutions using a hand-held TI calculator. Not sure which post is worse! lol

So, do you all know how the Tower of Hannoi game is played? There was a question about it on my math test. And there was a question about Pascal's triangle. I got P's triangle right, but the Tower of Hannoi I didn't study, and didn't spend much time trying to figure out on the test.
Smiley Girl

I had a Tower of Hannoi question, too. Lots of discs on the first peg and you have to move the discs from one peg to another (three in all), never putting a larger one on top of a smaller one and having to determine the least number of moves before you can get them all to the last peg... I actually enjoyed trying to figure that one out. At least if felt like a game instead of a "problem". Of course, I don't know if I got it right...

I had a question where I was supposed to find the mean of a set of data which was displayed in a Stem and Leaf plot. I had no idea how to read it. I think I might have learned about that one, fifteen years ago.

TD - It was a quadratic funtion, not equation. I'm not even sure how that's different (lol) but, it must be cause the equation didn't look like the quadratic equations I remember (like the one you displayed above) from school. So...I was given a quadratic function and asked to "translate it -3 units about the x-axis" and then determine the new, transformed function. I don't even know what that means. Let alone how to re-write it.

Maybe I shoulda studied more...

Sounds like fun Div!

I get to work on putting together five pieces of furniture this weekend. Got two done yesterdat and it was fun. The other stuff is really big though and could be trouble.

We had the same temps yesterday IJ, although our high was only 59°. Warm enough to steam up the inside of everyone's cars and turn that condensation to frost this morning and warm enough to make sure all our locks freeze today too. All our snow dissapeared yesterday. =(

Good morning. Just wondering how you're all feeling today.

I slept late. Couldn't sleep good last night. Probably drank too much coffee yesterday after completing 31+ miles of canoeing in 2½ days in Okefenokee Swamp. Then I returned to a cold, empty home. Sort of like being married again.

treebait - You're right. And I do blame myself for some poor decisions during life.

BTW, Yesterday evening I was thinking how nice it would be to see you and your family again. I was in your area at the north intersection of I-95 and I-295. The south such intersection is screwed-up with the new interchange construction and the detour route is not well marked.

Will we be getting a trip report from the scout leader?

Possibly, I'll ask him when he gets in. He now has cell phone coverage at Brick Hill Bluff CG, at the north end of the island. Thanks to the nor'easter that blew through and cleared the air, yesterday's sunset was spectacular. It seems some of the boys have never noticed a sunset before.

Mornings like this one, where it is -17°F. at Duluth's Sky Harbor Airport in Minnesota, make me feel happy to be in Florida. But I do have a space heater going next to my chair as it is 43°F. here, while I wait for the sun to warm it to 61°F. today.

I heard it was 1 this morning. Whatever it its, its cold. Supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow by tomorrow morning.

Enjoy your snow, folks. Except for my daily pool game, I'm going to stay home, finish the dishes and make some chocolate pudding and some strawberry jello with fresh strawberries. Then I can turn on TV and watch some football. It will carry me back to the days when I was trying to become an All-american player. I didn't make it, but I was the best bench warmer on the team.
