How about THEM apples?” 7:13:38 AM 11/17/02 “I think any man who sleeps with weasels is weird. ;-) Me, I'm gonna do a few laps around Monte Sano before Mother Goose gets up.” 7:19:51 AM 11/17/02 “so does everyone have COFFEE but me?? ~sniff~” 7:21:13 AM 11/17/02 “Another bright sunny day in ABQ, 50's predicted.” 8:45:08 AM 11/17/02 “Coffee here too.” 8:46:33 AM 11/17/02 “Good coffee here in Indiana! Winter is finally here too. It's in the low 40's, but a little sunnier today. No backpacking for me this month. We bought a new house, so all my time has been spent stripping old wallpaper, paiting and moving. We have to be moved by Dec. 1” 8:56:50 AM 11/17/02 “Coffee, coffee, coffee....yes I have coffee...” 8:58:40 AM 11/17/02 “CCCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEE with lots of SSSSSSSSUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!” 9:23:05 AM 11/17/02 “OH... you were talking about the FERRETS... <whew>” 9:24:45 AM 11/17/02 (Rubbing Eyes With Fists) “Yawn!” 4:16:22 AM 11/18/02 “Good morning everyone. How was your weekend? We had lousy weather here all weekend and got a couple inches of wet snow overnight that's clinging to all the trees. I still got out for a wet dayhike, but that's about it.” 6:08:08 AM 11/18/02 “Goodmorning! The Cinderella cake was finished at 1:15 am. It required three cake mixes and lots of blue frosting. It looks like an amateur made it but my five year old is thrilled and that's what's important. Today I'm going to Kindergarten! :o) Have a great day, everyone!” 6:10:45 AM 11/18/02 “Wow, Sunshine, three cake mixes! I hope your daughter's class has some very big appetites! They will be excited that it isn't the same old same old cupcakes. Rich, we had a dusting of snow overnight. I didn't do much yesterday other than housework, since my cold was much worse. It seems better today, and coffee is almost done brewing. I'm hoping to rollerblade with my daughter this afternoon, so the weather had better be nice for one day at least. Dayhiking in the cold wet is pretty hardcore, if you ask me. Take lots of Vit C and zinc to ward off colds.” 6:17:00 AM 11/18/02 “Glad to hear your cold is a little better today. The sun is supposed to come out later so maybe half the day won't be too bad. Dayhiking in the wet isn't bad and sometimes I enjoy it. Everything looks different than a sunny day. I just bring a rainsuit, sometimes an umbrella and a small tarp if I want to stop for lunch. Fishing in the rain is pretty good at times and fish sometimes start to feed. I've been taking vitamins, but I just try to avoid people with colds since getting a cold for me is really bad. So far I've lucky and haven't had one in a while.” 6:44:58 AM 11/18/02 You've got to be kidding me.... “Its Monday already?” 6:47:57 AM 11/18/02 “Let me finish this first cup..then well, see how things look out there!” 6:50:19 AM 11/18/02 “Well unfortunately I couldn't avoid my friends this weekend since we did girl scout stuff, so they probably will all hate me in a few days. Oh well. It turned out good that I wasn't hiking since my co-leader's wife was very sick with a cold, so he couldn't do the nut sale stuff (he's on crutches due to knee surgery). I had to do all that running around in the rain and sorting and getting people to come get their orders. So that is why all my friends now are exposed to my cold. Hopefully I was past the contagious stage.” 6:52:55 AM 11/18/02 “I think the incubation period is 2 days so you'll find out soon. I had my nephew stay away this weekend since he picked up a cold too.” 7:09:24 AM 11/18/02 It's my weekend! “No work today and Wed. But I had to to take customers out and chase shopping carts in the rain all weekend. The rain did quit yesterday afternoon and the sun shined for a while, but the temperature dropped. Jacket weather is forbidden here. Please keep your cold breezes up north. BTW, with the rain on Sat., a tornadoe took the roof off a Sam's store.” 7:16:19 AM 11/18/02 GET UP! “Hi-ho hi-ho its off to school I go.” 7:46:42 AM 11/18/02 “Keep those diseased people aWay from Me! <G>” 7:51:02 AM 11/18/02 “Nowslimmer, you had a tornado in Melbourne? How unusual is that? Tilt, cough, cough, cough, so there! And your little ferret too. And you forgot my birthday a few months ago, so beware, I've been training your ferret.” 7:54:10 AM 11/18/02 “Florida is not only a leader in cattle, it is a leader in lightning strikes. With lightning comes storms, with storms sometimes there are tornadoes. There seem to be several almost every year. And hurricanes breed them, too. Chilly air follows stormy weekend "Wal-Mart's critical response team came from as far away as Miami " "last confirmed tornado to hit Brevard was Oct. 25, 2001,"” 8:25:49 AM 11/18/02 “Ha! I've already got the surgical mask on! So you and the ferret have been plotting behind my back, eh? I WILL be sleeping with one eye open (and keeping my socks on). It's actually getting kinda chilly down this way (31 this morning). The Weasel's Winter coat hasn't grown in yet, so she might have to stay in and miss the meteor shower tonight (she doesn't really get into them anyway...). NS... Yes, golf and lightning makes for a bad combo. I'd think with that and the hurricanes, they'd give you a break on the tornadic activity.” 8:43:25 AM 11/18/02 “Good morning! I LOVE great coffee..Barnie's, Starbuck's & Joe Muggs are my fav! Have already had a cup. I learned about this site from bitpusher & Father Goose on our last (& first time AT) hiking trip last month. It's been, er, interesting to read the different threads. The hiking community is very interesting...lol! Sunshine, we made a Barbie cake for our daughter, too, two yrs ago (5 yrs, also!) How old is your son?” 9:02:45 AM 11/18/02 “Good morning, Hinds Feet! Got my coffee too, just plain 100% Colombian. Don't say we didn't warn you!” 9:10:28 AM 11/18/02 “Hi Hinds Feet, welcome to our little corner of the world. We are dedicated backpackers, but we like to joke around while not on the trail.” 9:14:42 AM 11/18/02 “Hinds Feet - Hi! Read your trip report, etc., and hope you're healing well. I believe we met on the trail just above the road at unicoi gap. I was the old guy (pictures 2,3,5 6) with a beard (now gone) on my way to join bitpusher & father goose! on their last trail night at Blue Mtn. Shelter. Best wishes.” 9:47:52 AM 11/18/02 “..clear” 9:50:17 AM 11/18/02 “nowslimmer,> pleaser type more carefully.” 9:56:24 AM 11/18/02 “that do it?” 9:58:00 AM 11/18/02 “..quit bold.” 9:59:57 AM 11/18/02 I've been up and 5:25:59 AM 11/19/02 “*groan* *whine* Do I have to??” 5:28:10 AM 11/19/02 “Ha! Been up since 3, with only MAYBE 2 hours of sleep prior to that! I'm gonna crash and burn hard at some point today.” 5:32:42 AM 11/19/02 “I am going to bed!! GOOD NIGHT!!!” 5:37:46 AM 11/19/02 “I'm up, coffee has been inhaled already. Time to do dishes and such.” 5:43:42 AM 11/19/02 “LyndyS - Good morning. How is your cold?” 5:48:11 AM 11/19/02 “grrrr. no meteors this morning” 5:50:09 AM 11/19/02 “gosh, i got up early, but never even thought to look for any meteors. not that it mattered, its raining here. yuck.” 6:16:30 AM 11/19/02 “Lyndy, I found a source for Evazote foam for making hipbelts. MEC in Canada sells sleeping pads made out of it in 15mm thickness which is just right. I'm going to get one and some 500 Cordura from Seattle fabrics and make a new hipbelt for my external pack.” 6:23:40 AM 11/19/02 “Sounds good, I think that if I can make some comfortable hip belts for inexpensive external frames, I can outfit some more girl scouts and their parents for backpacking. My friends have been talking about me behind my back, and as a result, people have been coming up to me expressing interest in backpacking. I think that I will have to start a local group, like Crazy Mike did.” 6:40:29 AM 11/19/02 “Starting a group is a good idea and you'll have more people to hike with.” 6:47:19 AM 11/19/02 “My cold is much better finally! Thanks for asking, nowslimmer.”6:51:26 AM 11/19/02 “All this chatter, Can't you guys see I'm trying to work here. I didn't get any sleep last night because I kept getting up to look for the meteors. Gripe... Gripe....Gripe.. OK I'll drink some more coffee” 7:27:35 AM 11/19/02 “As I sip my coffee, I'm reminiscing yesterday's lunch date with a tall, blonde and handsome thiry year old. Thank God he couldn't read my mind!! :o)” 5:09:47 AM 11/20/02 “Good morning. Wish I could find a nice blond about 30. etc. I'll bet she would be able to read my mind! Have a great day, folks.” 5:33:18 AM 11/20/02 “Good Morning to you one and all..I'm moving slow today. Hey I just started drinking green tea..is it just me or does it give anyone else a buzz?” 6:07:42 AM 11/20/02 “Good morning everyone, we have frost on the ground again. 8 days to Thanksgiving. Sunshine, are you starting to feel like CloudyDay with all the people coming to your house soon?” 6:17:01 AM 11/20/02 “We're socked in with thick fog this morning, but it's supposed to be sunny later today. I think it will be some time before this breaks up.” 6:22:42 AM 11/20/02 Jump to Page << prev
