I dozed back off after it started to get light outside. That scared a few years off of me it was so loud. Laurel never woke up, and she has an alarm in her bedroom that went off. THe single alarm unit downstairs is the culprit. We observed all of the alarms, and when I got to the one downstairs the green light was on rapid flash and the red light was on slow blink. What is interesting about this is that none of the units had a red light flask on them before. Now all except the unit in the bedroom do. I don't really care, I just want to shoot each and every one off of the ceiling today. Sorry if I'm rambling. THe fatigue from 2 nights of little sleep is making me feel funky, slow and about 50 pounds heavier. Time for some caffeine.” 8:01:48 AM 5/11/07 “Let's see.... Do I want to brew a pot of Dark Roast or just pop a can of Starbucks Doubleshot? ![]() They're carrying unblended Kona and Jamaica Blue Mountain at the local Fresh Market again... Evil Bastards!” 8:25:15 AM 5/11/07 “Well, if you're gonna be a bastard, evil is the best kind.” 8:49:57 AM 5/11/07 “Yeah, I guess so [raspberry].” 8:58:34 AM 5/11/07 “Good morning, everyone...I really worked hard yesterday...weeded about about 200 dandelions, helped Bill haul out the wood from a cottonwood that fell in our yard, cleaned out an area near our collapsed garage that has been collecting trash for 20 years (old tires, old metal fencing, metal cupboards, old roofing, muffler, miles of hose, curtain rods and on and on and on) and started collecting winter clothes to take to the storage unit....glad it's raining today so I am forced from doing more outside work... I'm thinking French Toast....” 7:44:56 AM 5/13/07 “morning..men's breakfast is over now, time for a shower and ready for my one hour work week (yeah, right)....... cleaned out the shed yesterday and got rid of more crap.........moving day is closer now......... blessings.......... :)” 8:05:23 AM 5/13/07 “Happy Day! All you Mothers --- Freedom Toast! [argh]” 8:07:37 AM 5/13/07 “oh, yeah, happy mommies day, you too Frank Zappa.............” 8:17:04 AM 5/13/07 “Yup, Happy Mommy's Day. Mata, looks like you're acquiring some good skills over there in St.Croix Falls. I've got the same mess over here, only more of it and more diverse. Hop on over when you're up to it. You can even drive the tractor, lol. French toast sounds good. I love everything French, especially how they take care of their citizens; lots of paid vacations, etc.” 8:22:06 AM 5/13/07 Hugs. “Good afternoon.” 3:30:07 PM 5/13/07 “Tilt - your coffee comment reminded me that I'm bringing about 6-8 #'s of the Blue Mtn back next month. You can get it for about $10-$12/# in teh Montego Bay airport. Dark Appelton rum is about $12/L there too. I'm taking my 2800ci daypack just to bring goodies back.” 5:02:30 PM 5/13/07 “OH yeah --- I think Fresh Market wanted $29/lb.  < yikes > (the Appleton is mighty tasty also)” 9:06:32 PM 5/13/07 “Good morning, I'm up early this morning because I'm having my third esophagus dilation in a few hours. I went fishing Saturday and it's getting better. I caught a lot of trout before the rain started. Next week should be even better.” 2:44:24 AM 5/14/07 “hope that goes easy for you Rich” 3:20:57 AM 5/14/07 “Tilt - I'm bringing at least 6L home this time. The only reason the 2L I brought last time lasted as long as it did is that about 15 months of the last 24 had my wife either pregnant or nursing. Not this time though.” 6:17:38 AM 5/14/07 “I've got the old Gregory 7000 in3 pack I can lend you ---- It only weighs 8 lbs empty....” 6:53:03 AM 5/14/07 “yeah but it does _NOT_ fit under an airplane seat” 6:59:05 AM 5/14/07 “It needs its _OWN_ airplane seat, LOL” 7:13:13 AM 5/14/07 “morning folks........son and his gf are here with their dog for the last two days. lots of time to catch up to having kids in the house again..........they will go back to their apartment today with our blessings...... :) of course we better get used to them being around for many years to come........with more than a dog some day..... then things will get fun. still packing and getting ready for the move but its a smaller effort now. hope all is well with you all and blessings on trips, ailments, etc. ....out............” 7:30:10 AM 5/14/07 “Had a great time this week-end...went to hear my nephews band, Skinlab http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinlab Since they didn't play until midnight I only heard them play one number during a sound check...took my nephew out to dinner at Red Lobster which was his first decent meal in days...then spent some time with the dread-locked, tatooed band in one of the most awesome tour buses I have ever seen...2 wide-screen TV's, sleeps 12, leather couch, huge cooler full of beer...quite amazing...my nephew was the only one that didn't look the part of a heavy metal band...he looks normal...short hair, trimmed beard, baggy pants, t-shirt, baseball cap...he is an awesome drummer and I enjoyed, with earplugs, hearing the band...I did get a compliment...when I walked in the bar one of the guys pointed to me and said to Paul, "there's your girl"...Paul laughed and said, "that's my aunt!"...I still look good in the dark...LOL...the guys were really nice and it was fun to hang out with a band again.... inspite of songs with titles like these; http://www.darklyrics.com/s/skinlab.html they are really laid back...Steve had his beautiful, blond wife and 2 boys (6&9) with them for a few days... last edited: 5/14/07 7:37:18 AM” 7:34:08 AM 5/14/07 “I checked the links, Mata. There's so much I don't know about current rock n' roll. Then again, I never did...just laid back and enjoyed it. Wood ticks. My ex-dog Freckles visited over the weekend, with my daughter and her b/f. Freckles went for a bike ride with Les, him riding and her running. Upon their return, she jumped into the brook and submerged herself in order to cool off. When they came into the house, we combed 15 brand new ticks from her. It is tick season, but this is incredible. They are absolutely rampant. Lately we have taken to microwaving them, but some live through the experience and are put to the cigarette lighter. No mercy for wood ticks.” 7:50:30 AM 5/14/07 “I've found wood ticks like it when it's dry and mosquitoes like it when it's wet...either way, in Wisconsin, you're screwed if you don't know how to deal with bugs...” 7:55:51 AM 5/14/07 “good morning hugs from Ohio.......tomorrow I start the second part of my journey...was considering Pickett State Park in Tenn....but decided to go see my brother in Missouri...and then head back to Alabama later in the week... ...wonderful weather here in mid Ohio!!!!.... ...I forgot how beautiful Ohio is in the spring...and it smells sooo wonderful!!!” 8:24:30 AM 5/14/07 “Morning all.. I tried to sleep in a little bit this morning but the mattress charges too high of a price in pain. I need a new mattress. THe house in Florida belongs to somebody else as of 2 pm this afternoon. There's some very noisy construction of some type going on around here. It sounds just like loud single shots of thunder. I wonder if they are trying to dismantle a small mountain of solid rock across the way, so the developers can cram in 3 or 4 more houses. Now that the house is gone, I need to focus on the new pond, and where everything is going to fit. Filtration is the key, and the key can take up a lot of space if not designed correctly.” 9:22:11 AM 5/14/07 “Don't mutate those ticks into something worse with those microwaves! < G > Remember those monster movies in the Fifties... giant ants, spiders... & especially the giant rabbits.” 9:45:20 AM 5/14/07 “Worked Saturday covering a shift for a friend...then spent Sunday helping clean up around the house...taking it easy Had to go work one fire but came back and took the family to dinner.... Oh Tilt, you been to the new Red Robin yet?” 9:51:51 AM 5/14/07 “tb - if it sounds like multiple loud claps of thunder then it's probably a dump truck unloading. You said single shots though. Powder actuated fasteners sound more like a .22 rifle going off. I'm curious now.” 10:09:12 AM 5/14/07 “More like they're taking large individual boulders and dropping them in the back of the dump truck, Dayhiker.” 10:13:20 AM 5/14/07 “Ahh, that makes sense. The first time I was on a job site when a dumptruck was unloading it scared the crap out of me. Talk about jumping. White boyz can jump.” 10:15:57 AM 5/14/07 “I've heard enough of dump loading and unloading to be somewhat used to it. It still doesn't make me jump as much as when the tooling inside a high speed CNC lathe decides to suddenly go to hell in the middle of cutting a part. This was something different though. I went outside to listen, and of course the noise stopped. Figures.” 10:19:38 AM 5/14/07 “Morning hugs!!!! wooo hoooo.....off to Missouri this am!!!....back in the car again...lol...... ..so..I won't be back on here until next Monday or Tues....SO...Ya'll behave!!!...I can be reached by email or phone :) ...hugs” 4:50:36 AM 5/15/07 “CNC's ttoling hiccops always make me jump too, treebait...I learned about our mills reading a WWII Navy training handbook..they are that old and never surprise me... Good morning...what a difference a day makes...yesterday it was up around 95 and today's predicted highs are 65...we really need rain...” 5:03:03 AM 5/15/07 Hugs. “Good morning. Have a safe trip, everyone traveling. It's still dark outside, except for the lights in the empty parking lot of a nearby plant. Everyone should have parking lot lights shining in their windows all night. Seems to me that the night watchman could turn them off. I'd turn them off, if I had a BB gun. Have a wonderful day.” 5:18:49 AM 5/15/07 “Ok, nowslimmer, settle down........your blood pressure will go up you know.......... Good morning all......the train woke me up rumbling around and I thought it was thunder so I jumped up and looked on the radar page but nothing there. Green tea and oatmeal....mmmmmmmmmm.” 6:52:02 AM 5/15/07 “Good morning, it looks like a nice day out there and is supposed to be 86 later. If it is, that'll be the hottest day yet this year.” 7:02:48 AM 5/15/07 “Morning! Almost unpacked from the weekend, one huge laundry basket of stuff to go. It's gorgeous here at the moment, but thunderstorms are coming this afternoon. Seems like the ground just started drying out.” 7:43:21 AM 5/15/07 “I was just thinking how lucky I am. I have this little, old trailer that's falling apart, but I'm comfortable. I can take off on trips whenever I feel ready. Some people get new, beautiful homes and trap themselves into moving rocks and dirt. When there is little to do, they keep busy by rearranging furniture. They put in expensive grass and then spend hours watering it. Before you know it, they are repainting, first the inside, then the outside. Now let's see, where is my fishing pole? The tide's coming in and, likely, some fish will be moving in with it.” 7:53:13 AM 5/15/07 “Why bother even coming here any more. last edited: 5/15/07 8:09:16 AM” 8:06:33 AM 5/15/07 “tb - you materialist you.” 8:23:20 AM 5/15/07 “I'm glad you come here, treebait!” 8:29:07 AM 5/15/07 “This'll cheer you up! Consider that we're in a different place in life than you. Little kids running around = needing bedrooms.” 8:48:51 AM 5/15/07 “Seems to me that most streets are two-way. last edited: 5/15/07 9:29:20 AM” 9:26:32 AM 5/15/07 “Not sure what that means. I've made no comments about you and neither has tb. I'm assuming that's what she was referring to above. I knew I should've just kept my mouth shut.” 9:39:52 AM 5/15/07 “Me too, but then life loses it's luster.” 9:55:48 AM 5/15/07 “I guess I'm just trying to figure out where in the world those comments came from.” 10:05:10 AM 5/15/07 “It dates back to Towndawg collecting boulders from along side the highway.” 10:11:46 AM 5/15/07 “Well durn.
