WHOOP!!
He's got them!!! And mom lost all visitation rights. The details that came out in judges quarters bring me to tears, even after a good, thankful cry. Turns out she was pulled over for beating one of the kids in the car (in the past year while dad was in Iraq), because he told his class something that she made them do that would just turn your stomach. The police officer who pulled her over was wise enough to make sure someone heard about the reason little Aiden gave for why he was getting hit.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for any and all good thoughts, prayers, or whatever you people do/send. They have been answered/paid off! I myself am thanking God profusely.

I have a friend who is a circuit court judge. I can't even fathom the crap he has to hear on a day to day basis. I imagine the judge you mentioned will have to take a long bath tonight, kiss his kids, and be damn thankful he got the chance to put those kids where they needed to be.

I've been gone a couple of days, bringing my mother to visit my daughter. Interesting dynamics. So glad I kept my kids away from my parents. They are solid people because of it. Reality is that it is possible to love your parents without living in denial. Glad for your news, Sass; sounds like the kids now have a chance. Peace to all.

The famous quote by Franklin re: God and Beer also holds true for Coffee, I'm sure!

This Summer is just zipping by ---

Is it true that as we get older than dirt the time seems to go faster.... because of fractions?

at 10 y.o., a year is 1/10 of your life.
at 20 y.o., a year is 1/20 of your life.
at 30 y.o., a year is 1/30 of your life.... ?

I always suspected they were inherently evil.

Two inches of rain at my house. The most this year. The garden should be very happy. I picked the first of the summer squash last night, onions a few days ago. Peas are ready and soon will be the beans. Sweet corn will be awesome and the pumpkins, cukes and cantalope are trying to take over everything. I'm particularly pleased since many of my friends said "that's a horrible place to put a garden." I guess they don't know that if you plant a small child every 6-8 feet, there will be plenty of nutrients.

Good morning, we had a soaking rain overnight. Enough to water my garden well, but a good all day rain would have been better. At least it's cooler out. Yesterday it was hot and humid. It was really hot on the roads even later in the day when I was out bike riding.

Morning!

One hour of work this am and then it's time to pack up for another week up North. Another family reunion at Camp Grayling. Fun, fun, fun!!

Tomorrow is jury duty (very early in the morning). My first time ever being called. I get to go to Detroit (icky). Hoping if I get selected it'll be a one day trial or scheduled for further along in the summer (but NOT during the kids' hike).

Have a wonderful Wed!

Good morning everyone! It sounds like everyone is well today...even stovie's procoffee persona. (love ya anyway)

Nimble...the news on the garden is exciting, I wish I could sample the goods. My dad went crazy with tomatos this year and planted over 300!!! I guess that is the cash crop this year! In years past he has done bell peppers and even potatos.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Good morning, Mata. I'm off to get more of the rocks I paid for and are languishing behind my brother in laws house, plus any plants that might have survived the neglect. Joy. After that, I come back to my parents' house, get cleaned up and finally go home. THat's the part I'm looking forward to.

Mornin' all. I've been up for half an hour, screwing around, drinking coffee and reading threads. Making plans for my son to visit in late August. It's been more than 5 years since he's last seen his sister. My brother, his daughter and her 3 children will be here camping down by the brook in September. Except for Tim, they're all city people, so it will be interesting ...especially if the bear wanders through.

That sounds great Nimblefoot. I haven't seen my brother in two years, and the four of us kids haven't all been in the same place for four or five. It's going to be sooooo good to see them all at once on Sunday! It's pretty cool that you have a place they all want to visit now, or maybe it's just you they want to see.

Jury duty was cancelled! I'll make up for it later in the year they say. Someone must have plea bargained.

So, more boxing up of stuff in the kitchen. The cabinet doors are off and it looks like a hurricane hit in my house. Good thing I'm leaving because I cannot handle stuff everywhere. Gives me heart palpations, lol.

The poison ivy is still here. Tempted to get steroids for this case.

Morning. Gloomy day here, supposed to rain/storm through the day. Looking forward to less humidity tomorrow, though.

Sass, I understand that "hate the chaos" feeling. I only had two meltdowns in the last month about the chaos, and I figure with the pregnancy hormones that's pretty good!

G promises whatever work he does today will be things I want him to do. I almost fainted when he told me that. Poor guy will be banished to the garage most of the day, cleaning up the chaos out there.

Have a good day, folks!

Buy extra film, Nimble!   (they still make that stuff, don't they?)

Just contemplating how rocks might languish: slowly melting away from the rain, acidic or no, abraided by windblown grit, feasted on by moss and lichen. Over time you have less rocks for your money, but on the upside they don't weigh as much.

All things progress toward chaos.... that's the natural 'order' of things,   < G >

Enjoy every second of it RichB! Watch out for that poison ivy!!

I am a one woman itchy and scratchy show. I've got the stuff in my armpit, eye, all up and down my left arm and it's creepy slowly to other parts. Going to break down and get steroids today.

Released two insy teensy monarch caterpillars back to my milkweed only to find two more eggs. I have three caterpillars and two eggs and one milkweed plant (had to hose my second with permethrin to kill the aphids, who were gobbling up monarch eggs). I think the two eggs I have will travel up North with us. Can't expect Birch to be watching caterpillar eggs while ripping out walls, etc. And I can't expect five caterpillars to share one plant.

Nimblefoot, enjoy every little jiggle, just don't let the ladies know you are. Nothing creepier than a guy who openly drools and ogles!

Happy Friday everyone!
