I decided that the subtle purple sheen wasn't enough, so I'm leaving the temporary dye on for much longer, with periodic use of heat. Next step, if I'm not satisfied with this, is bleach a few strands first and go that route. All of the white hair I have thanks to getting old is already a spectacular shade of purple. :D Ya know, this makes me wonder if this is some sort of "mid-life crisis" expression for me. Lots of mayflies were out and I caught a trout on my first cast. Trout were in feeding zones looking for food and rising to pick off bugs in the surface film. I had a fly tied on that looked close enough to what they were looking for and they were all over it. I can't wait to go back out again after the action last night. Matahari, the closest trout stream to me is 3 miles from here and one of my favorites. There are several within 10 to 16 miles so I don't need to go far for good fishing. Divinity, once you start fly fishing you won't want to go spin fishing again. Fly fishing is art and science and there's always something to learn no matter how long you've been doing it. It's supposed to be 80 and sunny today, the warmest day yet this year. Maybe a bike ride is in order for tonight with it that warm. Have a good weekend.” 5:14:45 AM 4/18/08 “mornin'! Evidently some gets caught up in their downy feathers and sort of clumps together. You know, we all been there. It was my pleasure to inspect each and every chick and do the poop plucking in about 8 of them. The pleasures of being a father... I also rearranged their light, lowering it to provide more heat. The literature I've read says that if they're all clumping together, it's too cold. That's the way it was this morning, so I lowered the bulb. However, just to be safe, I also made an escape hatch cage and connected it to the original, so if the bulb would now be too warm, they'd have another room to go to.
