LOL HPM! I'd forgotten about that! Imagine the looks on parents faces after that weekend trip: "Hey Mom! I can use matches now! Wanna watch me start a fire?"

Nope, I think I always was a recluse to a certain degree, but I've gotten steadily worse ( not a recluse in a good way) over the last 10 years. Hpm knows what it takes to draw me out. It's easier to give a cat a bubble bath. I do have good days/weeks, though.

You taught my baby how to start fires?

Me: Yes Ma'am, he can build one with only one match too!

Take 500 mg Vit C, 50 mg Niacin, 25 mg B-6 and 30 mg Zinc twice a day, and plenty of Calcium/Magnesium Citrate separate from the other. The increasing reclusiveness is often due to vitamin deficiency brought on by reduced absorption as we get a little older. Doesn't hurt to try it.

Well there is always the shooting sports program at summer camp.

I'm currently on prenatal vitamins, due to breastfeeding. I'll look into the adjusted levels of vitamins when I'm done with that. THanks.

I thought I was reclusive because people suck. Now I know it's just because I'm vitamin deficient....lol...

Well, bitpusher if the shoe fits!

Treebait, the whole first group that I mentioned should be taken twice a day. They are water soluble. They have B-complex vitamins with 50 mg of each of the whole spectum of B vitamins plus folic acid and I occasionally take that but mostly I take the ones I mentioned. Someone on a hiking board said that B-vitamins help cut down on bug bites which I was skeptical of, but I have been better at taking my vitamins this year and have been bitten a lot less too.

nope not yet,
I was hoping to be able to go hiking with prowler this weekend but its still up in the air with him and his wife.
Im the kind of person that tries to plan my weekend early. My husband hates that. But, It makes my work week go by faster. anyway. I think i'll stick with the apple picken and drive in. Up in Warwick NY. right over Sterling Forest. Past The Renaissance(sp) Fair in Tuxedo.
To bad lyndys but there are no drive-ins left in NJ.
this is the closest to us and thats even 2 hrs away. so Im hoping to do the apple picken the have a picnic then movie. you should think about doing it before the weather gets cold. they have a very cute campground near there. Id love to stay over for the night but, not into car camping this weekend.

Hanging out, drinking coffee, thinking about scanning some photos.

I have to go check on the status of some springs in the Sandias this afternoon. I have a choice of a six or eight mile afternoon hike. Oh darn. Cottonwoods are changing, very rare aspen. Very, very dry. One spring yesterday was a long puddle, nothing in the stream bed above and below. At the picnic ground down below, one well was dry, one was strong.

Another spring was running strong, but nothing in the stream bed below.

Three more to check out. Two of the three are a must.

LOL Geobeet! I broke my foot about 4 years ago, and can still feel damp, cold weather coming. Its lessened quite a bit in the last couple years, but it bothered me last night. :)

I'm up, been at work for a while, doing some homework, then I actually have to do some work. :(

Hi y'all! I was up but was busy getting ready for church, etc. I have to stay off of here for a while due to a pinched nerve in my arm. Hurts all the way down to my fingers. Probably due to the coming rain, lol! Have to go hiking, that will loosen things up.

How do you dehydrate apples. Always wanted to do that but they get brown and sorta nasty looking so that I don't want stick 'em in my mouth.

Someone told me here (Bpbaby?Scully?Pamster?) to peel the apples, cut them into 1/4 inch thin slices and put them in a bowl of cold water with some lemon juice (I used a couple of TBLSP per quart I think). Then when you are done cutting, lay the slices on the trays and start dehydrating. They came out pretty good, I really liked them. I stored them in the freezer.
