What the fuk's a palooza? First it was Montanapalooza, now on another thread there's talk of a SierraPalooza and a CanyonPalooza.

I don't know about you but "palooza" sounds like something falling out a baby's ass. Not something I wanna be associated with.

What may have started the name was Lollapalooza, a big music festival in the 90's. I went to it the second and third years. Primus rocked!

The name exisited long before the concert.

Lalapalooza means "something extraordinary."

It's in some dictonaries.

So, I've been wondering..... Who was the one that tagged it 'Montanapalooza', in the first place?

LOL Chili!

I was thinking the same thing.

...too poor to buy a horse, too proud to ride a cow...

I did, back in November or so, when someone was trying to get Newgirl to set up a trip. I envisioned Homer Simpson as the human cannonball catcher at the time.

A palooza is one-half of of a 'double palooza'.

A male 'palooza' is a 'paloozo'.

A young child is a 'paloozling'.

Artex - I misled you...sorry. I was aware of the concerts, but didn't attend. I just meant that was the source of the "Palooza" that aero used.

I'll bet Primus rocked, though!

Yes, they most certainly do! I remember I made my way up to the very front row against the fence. Les Claypool does this little thing where he points his finger and shakes his hand. He looked in my direction and I did the finger-hand shaking gesture to him, and he looked at me, yelled "heeeeeeeeey!" in the microphone and returned the gesture. It was pretty funny!
