Psycho!?!?

“So, I may have told you guys about this incident before.

I walk Rosey at two parks around our apt. About four or five months ago, I start noticing this guy. Beard, appears to be of Middle Eastern decent, wears a camo boonie hat (think Nam, baby), a leather jacket, baggy jeans and flip flops. Carries a portable, softshell mini-padded cooler and usually a book. I see him in the park closest to my home in the morn and then at the Fort park in the eve. We see eachother but say nothing. I figure maybe he's some new immigrant, maybe has the post 9-11 heebee-jeebies over public reaction to who he is, yaddah, yaddah and decide to be a little friendly.

So I open my big yap one eve and say, "Hey. I guess we have the same scehdule." To which he responds, "No, we do not have the same schedule," in a thick accent.

I shoulda taken that as a clue right then and there to cease all conversation with this guys, but nooooooooo. "Really? I see you here and the other park at the same time I am walking my dog. Where are you from?"

"I am from the land of Turks," he tells me. "I am temporoarily homelss but I will be going back there in April."

This is followed by, "What do you think of homosexuals and child molesters?"

Now, I'm just off work, trying to wind down, so without really thinking I just say something along the lines of, "LAws deal with child molesters and I don't care what gays do."

To which he responds, "Child molesters and gays should be put to death."

To which I say, "You're not God. You aren't the one to make those choices."

He says, arms thrown up in the air and smiling, "I am a god!"

I say, "No," turn and walk away.

That's it.

Since then, I've had a few short interactions with him. Once I was picking up some of Rosey's crap and throwing it away in the trashcan to which he says, I think trying to be funny and demeaning, "Why don't you take that #&%!$ home with you." To which I respond, "Because there's a trashcan right here," and walked away.

Since then, he's always giving me glaring looks and trying to stare me down. I generally ignore him.

Recently, like in the past two weeks, he's spit in my direction while passing me from about 15 feet away and then this morning, flips me the bird from where he's sitting on a park bench about 10 feet away from where I'm walking the dog.

No doubt, the guy is a freak. I've been cautious about trying to let him see where we live, but he probably already knows. But he really comes off across as some sort of Muslim extremist.

What would you do?”

“please stay away from him. you already know he is on the edge. im in the city and i get all kinds of colorful people here. im a people person and i love to chat with almost anyone. but when i moved here i learned real fast not to talk to strangers. if you feel your life is in danger contact the cops and they will have him removed. by the way how big is your dog?”

“Rosey, first off, skeery. Secondly, I'm totally a country retard, so I would probably try to avoid the guy totally. Walk the dog at different times or maybe go to different parks. I would probably try to stay non-confrontational. Extremist says it all, he probably won't back down, so I would.”

“I'd report the guy right away, now that I think about it more. Especially with the Arabic thing he has going on.”

i was out shopping and i had bought some frenchfries. i saw this homless guy and he asked me for money because he was hungry. instead of giving him money i gave him my fries. i then got into my car and started to pull away when this wacked out ahole jumped in front of my car and started to throw the fries at me. i should have ran him over!!justifiable humacide (sp) dosent come your way every day. but the good girl i am i just yelled and gave him a 1 finger stand!”

I think that you have every right to call the local police department (not 911, but the non-emergency number) and tell them about your observations.

If the local police decide to check him out and he is discomforted by their response, so be it. He shouldn't feel comfortable acting as he does, to you, or anyone.

I hate to do it and actually, have never filed one before but this guys is relentless and gives me the creeps. Plus I'm concerned for my fiancee's safety. “Something similar happened to a friend. Except the guy she had a run-in with had a super-extreme veterans of foreign war thing going on. She tried to be polite and chatty. Something she said really aggrevated him, it may have been 'hello'. She tried to smooth it over with 'I think we may have gotten off on the wrong foot, I'm sorry...". The more she apologized the more enraged he became. Absolutely nothing he shouted at her had anything to do with her or the conversation she had been trying to have with him. After the police took him away it was determined that he was an outpatient at a mental health clinic and had skipped his meds that morning. He became an inpatient for a little while again and she was just very lucky someone bigger than both of them intervened before someone got hurt.

I think you can guess which advice that has already been given I think you should follow.”

a) He expressed a desire to kill homosexuals;
b) Though no violence has come to me from him yet, he has exhibited behavior towards me that indicates things could escalate to that level or worse, he hurts someone I love.

He hangs out in the park with about 30 other homeless people so obviously, that is not the factor inducing a concern on my part.”

“I am here visiting America from the land of the Turks. I have recently been living in a public park due to my unexpected unemployment situation.

Starting maybe four or five months ago, I started noticing this odd looking man staring at me while walking around my living area. To me, he looked like a child molester or perhaps a homosexual. One day he confronted me, disrespected my religion and informed me that he was indeed a homosexual.

Since then, he has deliberately let his filthy dog crap near me. The stench is horrible. As if that weren’t bad enough, he puts the crap in a garbage can right next to where I am forced to sleep.

I’m sure he has been watching me and knows my routine. I have tried to dissuade him, but he seems to be infatuated with me which, to me, is quite revolting.

No doubt, the guy is a freak. I am thinking of filing a harassment complaint.

What would you do?”

“Steve, now really, I think that Rosey just wants to be safe and try to make sure his fiancee is safe. It never hurts to take a little extra caution. If nothing else, Rosey may have done this man a favor. Perhaps he has some mental instabilities and needs help. Maybe Rosey's report will get that ball rolling.”

Actually, I've already watched the cops give the guy a shakedown and apparently he has the appropriate credentials because they left him alone.

I also find it disturbing that you had the cops search him without probable cause of a crime being committed. And you say they let him go because he had "the right credentials?" What does that mean, that we should be required to carry I.D.?”
