“I hereby nominate Newgirl for the TT'r of the year award. I know of no other TT'r that has been ridiculed, putdown, and down right trashed as bad as Newgirl was when she started posting. Yet she stuck it out and, from the Montanapalooza reports, has proven to be quite a backpacker (no mention of whinning and complaining).

WD, Jerbear, Tex, TD, Crazy Mike and several others who have travelled to multiple locations to hike, are my candidates for "backpacker of the year".

arclite gets my nomination as the "most provocative poster of the year".

and Marvin is my clear cut choice for "troll of the year"”

I got my feelers hurt a few times and got sick of people being jerks, but I toughed up and looked for the good stuff here. Guess what? I found it. I came here to find out about backpacking and I got lots of info. about all sorts of topics ranging from relationships to backpacking. I went on a great trip, I met great people, and I got some great used gear (thanks to generous TTers).”
