State Parks in NYView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 7 of 7 messages posted.
Devil's Hole and Buckhorn Island “Anyone know anything about these State Parks. Both are in the Niagara Falls Area. I am leaving tomorrow to go to Canada for a meeting on Monday & Tuesday. I am going to Niagara Falls Sat evening and then Sunday I wanted to check these parks out since they are close by. If someone knows of another cool place to go hike in that area let me know...tonight” 9:23:41 PM 7/26/02 “I don't know anything about those parks. I do know that the Bruce Trail starts on the Canadian side of the falls area. I also know that the Finger Lakes Trail in NY state supposedly connects to the Bruce Trail. I don't know any specifics, but I'd check both of these major long trails if I was in the area.” 10:22:08 PM 7/26/02 “The Conservation Trail is the connector between the Finger Lakes Trail and the Bruce Trail. It looks like the Niagara region is in the middle of about 1,000 miles or so of continuous trail. The Bruce is sweet on the northern end, but I don't know how it is down that far south. BTW, bring a birth certificate, passport if you plan on crossing.” 10:32:22 PM 7/26/02 “Thanks RL, I looked up both trails and i could get in a day hike Sun. I called and talked to customs to see what I would need to cross the border (esp since 9-11)and they said a state drivers license is all I need. I hope so that is all I am taking.” 10:37:01 PM 7/26/02 “Always found it more of a pain coming back into the US than going into Canada even before 9-11.” 11:31:02 PM 7/26/02 9:57:16 AM 4/19/06 “wow, can't believe it has been that long since I posted that. Time for a trip back” 10:04:54 AM 4/19/06
