"and will increase

Don't buy a ticket and go anyway. There's lots of public land out there. Years past have shown it is impossible to keep gate-crashers and squatters out.

Mel and her husband were thinking of going, but I think they are going to pass this year.

Not sure what all happens there...sounds like sort of a "controlled" version of Woodstock (and no photography allowed!).

No photography allowed?

Didn't you see all those photos of Burning Man people thrusting their diks and pussies into the camera from a few years ago?

Never heard of it until a week ago. The official website says no unapproved cameras allowed.

A websearch reveals lots of pics a fair amount of nudity at the event.

I think it's about as easy to keep out the cameras as it is to keep out the crashers.

I am thinking about flying to Reno and renting an RV. Anybody got body paint?

For $200 admission they ought to supply the body paint.

LOL bacpac.

I read an interesting article on Burning Man maybe last year in Salon online mag. Course, they just made it into a huge gay party.

Ya up for that??? ;-)

Uh Oh.... A self sufficient desert community with naked chicks running around is one thing....

I may have to rethink this.

Wired Magazine sent Bruce Sterling, a semi-famous (at least amongst the cyberpunk genre of science fiction) to Burning Man a couple of years ago to write and article. Here is what he wrote about it.

I have friends that went last year. They flew in from the East Coast and rented an RV and used my pad as a jumping off/return point.

Since it's held in an alkali falt, everything gets covered with really fine white dust and you have to wear goggles and dust masks a lot of the time.

yeah, bacpac, I'm not sure it's just a gay thing. The article I read was by a San Franny guy, so maybe he took that angle (let's not talk angles, huh?) for his readership.

Went to Burning Man a couple years ago. An excellent adventure. Bring lots of water and keep an open mind.

No cameras must be a new thing. I have lots of pics.

I get to watch the half dehydrated Burning Man participants return on the Freeway each summer. Them and their vehicles are covered in a fine white alkali dust. In the Reno Gazzette Journal I get to read about rapes, bomb threats, and other events associated with Burning Man. I am not saying don't go, just be careful and take lots of water, at least a gallon per person per day.
Rock on dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According the Burning Man owners manual you will need 1.5 gallons of water per person per day.

It doesn't hurt to bring more if you have the room. Some #$%^& usually brings nothing but a trunk full of beer and by the second day comes begging for the nectar of the gods. We strapped several five gallon water jugs to the back bumper.

I have a few friends that go every year. I always say I'm going to go with them, but I never do. I guess that dosen't make me much of a burning man. Perhaps more of an arctic man?
