newgirl - FYI: I have two daughters your age. They are really neat and fun to hang with. One just graduated from college in June. The other is a junior in college. I took them backpacking about 10 years ago. They enjoyed it, but never "asked" to go again (Check out my purple pants and great knees!!).”

“Those are some great looking girls Phil. I bet you have to beat the men away. As for the bping trip, they don't look all that excited. LOL! (They have the "My-Dad-Is-A-Pain-In-The-A$$" look.)”

“Bit, my dad has 3 daughters and I'm pretty sure 3 double barreled shotguns isn't enough, as far as he is concerned.”

“My oldest two daughters both have long-term boyfriends who we get along nicely with. (In fact, I try to keep my wife away from Julia's boyfriend. IMHO she likes him too much.) The "joke" around our house for a few years was that there was a jar of "stupid" pills somewhere and it would magically jump between their bedrooms. Never could find that jar to destroy it. After we got through that phase, they have been pretty good (except for cars...we won't go there on this post).

That backpacking picture was taken just as we got to the campsite. Actually, we got there faster than I ever did with our scout troop. They were in shape from playing soccer. Anyway, not having a "real" bathroom (pit toilets only) seemed to be biggest negative for them. We had fun and still talk about it.”
