“Yes. I was 70 on July 8th. At my celebration I had to do about a dozen takes to obtain the photograph that I wanted. It is one that shows me upsidedown in the air.. You can see the action at the celebration if you click on the link and scroll to the bottom of the page.

“My thanks to all of you.

I am exceptionally fortunate since I previously experienced a cardiac arrest, I have 5 bypasses, my heart pumps about 85% of normal, my knees need replacing, etc. Yet I am still physical with workouts, aikijutsu, bicycling and can swim over two miles. Oh, almost forgot the rough part. I'm still raising a teenage daughter alone! And wait until you get my trip report in November. Within two weeks I'll be leaving for a lot of bp-ing in GSMNP. Took leave from work until Nov. 6th.

Again, thanks to all of you. Those whom I have not yet met, I hope to have the pleasure.

Thanks. You're into some awesome stuff, yourself! You did some great analysis. I'm into aikijutsu(defensive combat). But we include a lot from aikido as well as other martial arts. The sport of judo was derived from aikijutsu. Our instructor's brother visited our class two weeks ago. He is a 6th degree black belt in Judo. He gave us some great advice, which he said was a $1,000 lesson.(It was that good!) He worked out with us, gave us some great personal coaching and threw me once. He is 60 and his qualifications include several times in Judo, US Champion, World Champion, US Military World Champion, etc., etc. So I have now been thrown by one of the world's best.

A recent record check revealed that I am the oldest(by 9 years) student in our parent organization, Juko-Kai International. There are a few older people in Juko-Kai International, but they are instructors.”
