Yeah, its hot out. But the Michigan Mountaineers don't have any trips planned until October! This is unheard of! Lets go people, time to plan something!

Throwing out a couple of dates:
August 10-11
August 24-25
August 31-Sept. 1 (Labor Day weekend, we'd have to deal with traffic heading north and big crowds)

I'd like to do another canoe trip, with a base camp somewhere if its hot (I'm a heat wuss). We could have a TT pool party! Who's got a pool???

Throw out your ideas, let's get something going!

Yeah, the Pa-NJ contingent is making you look like a buncha wimps!

Tell ya what: we'll send out Brian the Stalker and the nattily attired bear wearing Wolmans Brother's underwear and armed with a pot gripper and a folding knife.

Maybe we could avoid the big traffic by going outside Michigan on Labor Day weekend??? What does anyone think??

Also, I am going up to Pigeon River this weekend. Just a 10 mile loop, but it means I can leave Sat early and still get home Sun without taking extra time off work. I have a seat available if anyone would like to come with.

Pool party?? Oh YEAH!!!

Well, if no one can come up with a pool, why not have a beach party?

I'm could do a dayhike (or a "pool party" or canoeing)on the 11th or the 24th. I could camp the night before either.

Maybe RL can finally have us over to play w/ his boats?

I'd be up for an overnighter for Labor Day Weekend if we can find a place that won't be too crowded.

I have access to a real nice pool set up. I'd have to check. Does anyone know when the Dream Cruise is? I always like to get the hell outta the 'hood when that's happening. I have 2 fantasy football drafts in August, so that would play a factor in when/what I can do.

Hey! How about the Zoo and then the pool? Or the Zoo and BBQ? My house is five minutes away from the Zoo. Also, my "pool access" is five minutes away form the Zoo. We could do a BBQ there too! Or how about just Zoo? I love that place, we go all the time!

Hey. Tara did sort of suggest a shindig at my place on the last dayhike. I'd be up for a grill/canoe/kayak on the 10th or 11th here in the beautiful Irish Hills. It's about an hour from Plymouth. I'll set up volleyball or a croquet set. We even have a nice 5 mile hike about 5 minutes away. But if the group wants to do something else, that's fine, too.

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!!

RL - I can't do the 10th, but if you plan it for the 11th, I'm in! I wanna play volleyball and play in the lake and hike and hang out. OOOhhh sounds like fun!

And then...We can do the Zoo and BBQ at Qs on the 24th...

Sounds like a pretty good August to me!

Okay. That's cool. I'll have a little shindig on the 11th. Email me at ingelsm@addison.k12.mi.us if you want to come. I'll email directions back. I'll tell the party planner and caterers to plan for noon.

Oh, BTW, I don't have a beach in my backyard, just a boat launch. But there is a state park 2 minutes north - Walter J. Hayes - for swimming fun.
