Not the ones on this site, 'cause we post here all day, instead of working. Although, Phaedrus is a testiment to how this can increase your possibility for advancement. He posts from work and he was recently promoted. Actually, I still get all my work done at work, but I post as well. So, maybe we are better workers. Better multi-taskers anyways.

I think the fitness has got to help with attendance. We 'outdoorsy' types probably don't 'sick out' as much

I would say no - I hate being stuck in an office all day. I would MUCH rather be backpacking. The mountains are my home, not sitting here in front of a computer. I dream of hikes to come and hikes gone by, talk hiking to people on the internet because there is no one here who has half a clue, and wait impatiently for the day when I can quit and go on to the next long trail.

Being backpackers makes us used to hard times- I can still go to work when I'm sick, but I take just as many sick days as the non hikers I work with. Only difference is, I enjoy mine.

And as for the topic: Yes, backpackers are better workers: They complain less.
